Position Summary

The Program Officer will oversee the execution, coordination, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement for multiple projects at Alone Initiative. This role will primarily focus on leading the “Transforming Helmet Safety in Kenya: From Regulation to Market Compliance” initiative, which aims to enhance motorcycle helmet safety regulations, compliance frameworks, and institutional coordination across Kenya. In addition to spearheading this project, the officer will provide support in the implementation of other Alone Initiative projects. Key responsibilities include facilitating policy discussions, conducting technical consultations, managing stakeholder coordination, executing research initiatives, overseeing monitoring and evaluation efforts, and engaging with government entities, development partners, transport stakeholders, and civil society organizations. The ideal candidate will possess robust project coordination capabilities, a proven background in policy or governance-related initiatives, and a strong commitment to road safety, transport governance, public policy, standards compliance, or sustainable mobility.

Oversee core duties including the development and execution of strategic initiatives, management of cross-functional teams, and maintenance of high-performance standards. Lead critical projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while fostering collaboration across departments. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions. Serve as a primary liaison between senior leadership and operational teams, facilitating transparent communication and ensuring accountability at all levels. Research, Policy, and Technical Support
