You will be tasked with overseeing and executing a range of duties designed to ensure operational efficiency and project success. Proficiency in relevant software, tools, and data analysis will be required to support decision-making and enhance productivity.

Under the guidance of the Country Director, assume responsibility for crafting and executing a comprehensive fundraising and business continuity strategy tailored to the Country Office.

Responsible for maintaining and routinely updating the country office funding pipeline, which involves diligently tracking available opportunities and monitoring the status of proposals.

Research and monitor prospective funding sources—including private donors and institutional funders—by leveraging donor funding intelligence and fostering strategic partner relationships to ensure timely awareness of relevant opportunities.

Create and uphold tools, guidelines, and templates specifically designed for donor intelligence information.

Lead efforts to prepare for upcoming funding opportunities by identifying and engaging key partners—such as international NGOs, national NGOs, universities, research institutions, and relevant line ministries—to establish collaborative consortia. Facilitate the development of teaming agreements and refine winning strategies and pitches to strengthen proposals.

Working closely with the Head of Programs, you will coordinate visits by donors and prospective partners to WHH Somalia/Somaliland’s operational areas, highlighting key achievements, demonstrating impact, and identifying critical funding needs.

Lead proposal development initiatives by managing timelines, coordinating cross-functional inputs, and serving as the primary author for new business proposals.

Spearhead the compilation of evidence briefs, capacity statements, and supplementary documentation, while providing assistance for evidence-gathering activities as needed.

Forge and nurture meaningful connections with prospective donors spanning individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities—expanding outreach to include non-traditional donors and foundations, particularly in the Gulf region, to enhance donor diversification strategies.

Your profile

Professional credentials supplemented by additional certifications or vocational training, or commensurate relevant work experience.

With a minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience in the Global South, including at least five years dedicated to working in Somalia, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in the region.

Demonstrates extensive hands-on experience in the Somali region, coupled with a deep comprehension of its humanitarian and development coordination mechanisms and aid framework.

Demonstrates a strong history of successfully obtaining institutional funding from prominent bilateral and multilateral donors.

Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the Somali funding environment, encompassing traditional, emerging, and novel donor sources.

Proven expertise in implementing resilience initiatives within arid and semi-arid environments, with a strong focus on climate adaptation, livelihood enhancement, and food security interventions.

Demonstrates willingness and medical eligibility to obtain all necessary vaccinations mandated for international travel and deployment assignments.

You understand the increasing significance of data in your profession and are enthusiastic about expanding your knowledge and skills to integrate data-driven methods into your workflow.

Proficient in both written and spoken English communication.
