Job Summary

This position enhances the delivery of tax advisory, compliance, and client service engagements in a fast-paced audit and consulting setting. It encompasses contributing to the development of high-quality tax solutions, aiding in client engagements, and facilitating continuous improvement in tax processes, client relationships, and business development strategies.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Manage project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and mitigate potential risks to deliver high-quality outcomes within specified deadlines. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, promoting professional growth and accountability. Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain optimal team performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices to uphold organizational integrity and reputation.

Act as the primary liaison for clients, cultivating strong relationships while offering forward-thinking, strategic tax guidance to enhance their financial outcomes.

Lead and manage tax engagements, encompassing advisory services, due diligence assessments, and tax health evaluations, while delivering high-quality results within specified timeframes.

Compile and assess tax computations while ensuring the accuracy of tax returns.

Conduct regular assessments of clients’ tax-related matters to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Provide assistance during regulatory audits for clients, which entails representing them and addressing tax-related concerns to ensure resolution.

Prepare tax advisory opinions and deliver specialized guidance on tax legislation and regulatory compliance matters.

Mentor and cultivate tax associates, enhancing their proficiency in tax analysis to drive high-quality deliverables and continuous professional growth.

Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and compliance protocols.

Craft compelling proposals, deliver engaging client presentations, and provide strategic market insights to drive business development efforts.

Enhance internal development efforts by refining tax processes, methodologies, publications, and tools—such as tax alerts and thought leadership content.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential. Excellent communication and organizational skills must be demonstrated. At least three years of relevant professional experience is mandatory. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards is necessary. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment is crucial.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a closely related discipline is required.

Holding a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya qualification is a professional requirement for this role.

A qualification in Tax, Customs, and Revenue Administration, such as a Diploma or Certificate from KERA, would be advantageous.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in tax consulting or administration, including at least one year in a senior-level capacity.

Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of tax regulations and accounting principles.
