The Technical Manager for Ornamentals and Professional Pest Management (PPM) is responsible for designing and implementing Tangent Professional Solutions’ technical support strategy across major East African markets. This position establishes a robust technical foundation for both existing and upcoming products, oversees the execution of high-quality trial programs, and provides specialized guidance to commercial teams.
The position entails cultivating and sustaining robust partnerships with customers, influencers, researchers, channel collaborators, and internal colleagues to uphold superior technical assistance and reinforce Tangent’s standing as a dependable solutions’ leader. Accountabilities
Provide assistance to the SPS Business Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa in formulating and implementing the 5-year strategic roadmap, as well as the annual business and campaign plans.
Design, implement, and oversee technical support trials that align with crop and public health solutions strategies, while ensuring the budget remains in accordance with the SPS Business Manager’s directives.

A minimum of five years of professional experience in IT infrastructure management is necessary, with a strong emphasis on network administration, server maintenance, and cloud services. Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) is essential. Demonstrated experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools (Nagios, Rabbi) is also required.
