Job Description
You will spearhead the creation, refinement, and execution of a cohesive Global Affairs strategy tailored to Kenya, Glove’s flagship market in Sub-Saharan Africa and a pivotal force in the region’s digital economy. In this pivotal phase of growth, you will serve as the primary strategic voice on the ground, protecting Glove’s business model from a growing array of regulatory challenges.
The Global Affairs division comprises three key departments: Government Relations, PR & Social Media, and Impact & Sustainability. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in influencing public policy decisions to support our strategic business goals, proactively identifying legislative and regulatory shifts, cultivating our corporate image in the media landscape, and championing our interests to foster an enabling operational framework for the organization. Additionally, you will expand our country-specific social media presence in partnership with the Marketing team.
As a result, you will uphold and amplify our commitment to sustainability and social impact initiatives, driving meaningful progress in these areas. In this role, you will serve as a strategic advisor to all levels of Glove, fostering alignment and coherence across all internal and external communications with the company’s core purpose, vision, and mission.
We invite you to join a collaborative team environment where you will contribute to shared goals while developing your professional skills. In this role, you will work alongside experienced colleagues, fostering innovation and driving collective success through your unique expertise and dedication. Your contributions will directly support the organization’s mission, ensuring that every effort aligns with broader strategic objectives and delivers measurable impact.
Develop, oversee, and implement Glove’s non-market strategy in the realm of public affairs, leveraging communication initiatives, impact-driven projects, and sustainability efforts to bolster strategic success and enhance organizational legitimacy.
Lead local consultancies and, when needed, partner with think tanks, industry associations, and other critical stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy.
Serve as a pivotal liaison between multiple internal teams—including Marketing, Legal, and Operations—to foster strategic alignment across departments, ensuring initiatives address the nation’s critical challenges while driving business performance and measurable outcomes.
Provide comprehensive assessments of the local stakeholder landscape, regulatory frameworks, administrative dynamics, media trends, and social conditions, delivering strategic insights to management regarding associated risks and opportunities.
You will spearhead engagements with senior stakeholders and facilitate high-impact policy discussions, serving as Glove’s primary representative in all such interactions.
Ensure strategic allocation and planning of the substantial budget to guarantee high-impact, scalable deliverables.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to oversee public relations communications and social media strategy, ensuring brand consistency and engagement across all platforms. The role demands expertise in crafting compelling narratives, managing media relations, and developing innovative digital campaigns to enhance visibility and reputation. Candidates must possess strong writing skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of social media trends, analytics, and audience behavior. Responsibilities include creating press releases, coordinating with journalists, monitoring brand mentions, and analyzing performance metrics to refine outreach efforts. Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms, along with a proactive approach to crisis communications, is essential. Drive the development and implementation of external communication strategies, with a focus on elevating brand visibility, strengthening Glove’s public image, and advancing the company’s growth objectives in both Corporate and Consumer PR.
Ensure that Glove’s media relations maintain strategic coherence and consistency, while simultaneously cultivating enduring, high-value relationships with journalists, media organizations, and influential tech industry figures throughout the region.
Develop engaging social media content for Instagram and LinkedIn, expanding to additional platforms where our Kenyan audience is active.
Examine performance indicators from public relations and social media initiatives to evaluate impact, offering strategic guidance based on data insights to optimize campaign results.
In the region, you will oversee crisis communications efforts, guaranteeing prompt and expertly handled responses when required.
We seek a candidate to champion impactful initiatives and drive sustainable practices within our organization. The ideal professional will develop and implement strategies that enhance our environmental, social, and economic contributions while ensuring long-term viability. Responsibilities include measuring and reporting on sustainability metrics, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices, and identifying opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint and resource consumption. The role requires a strong understanding of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, experience in sustainability reporting frameworks, and proficiency in data analysis to track progress and drive continuous improvement. A passion for creating positive change and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels are essential for success in this position.
Identify strategic openings to develop and execute a bold Impact & Sustainability strategy, ensuring not only meaningful progress but also measurable reductions in our adverse environmental and social footprint.
Develop and maintain crucial partnerships and a strong organizational presence to ensure all impact initiatives align with and advance our Global Affairs objectives.
Leverage worldwide toolkits and data resources to ensure the I&S strategy reflects our core business objectives and the overarching global I&S plan, collaborating closely with the regional Africa Impact Lead and local teams to deliver efficient and high-quality results, while simultaneously identifying and pursuing innovative opportunities for partnership with local organizations.
