Job Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring Chief-Kenya’s adherence to all organizational, donor, and governmental policies and regulations. To fulfill this responsibility, the position will implement and utilize industry-leading project management frameworks, play a key role in enhancing ERP internal controls, offer specialized guidance on donor-specific requirements and compliance standards, facilitate contract negotiations and reviews, and strengthen staff and business systems to maintain alignment with contractual and donor obligations.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties encompassing core operational functions, strategic project management, and cross-departmental collaboration. Ensure adherence to established protocols while driving efficiency, innovation, and measurable outcomes across assigned initiatives. Serve as a key liaison between stakeholders to align objectives, resolve challenges, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Develop and implement policies, processes, and performance metrics to optimize workflows and enhance productivity. Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and mentor personnel to cultivate talent and achieve departmental goals. Analyze data trends, identify opportunities for enhancement, and recommend evidence-based solutions to senior leadership. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards while upholding ethical practices and professional integrity.

To maintain and verify the implementation of existing internal control systems in alignment with regulatory requirements set by donors and Chief-Kenya policies.

Proactively conduct comprehensive reviews of processes, practices, and documentation to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.

Conduct quarterly reviews to ensure donor compliance and compile a report for submission to the Board and CEO. This involves examining a selection of documents from Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants, as well as sharing observations with the appropriate staff or departments to facilitate corrective measures.

Collaborating closely with the Board and CEO, you will deliver technical guidance or raise awareness among all departments and staff regarding donor compliance matters.

Assist in developing and refining Internal Controls while enhancing the finance, procurement, and reporting functions within the proposed Chief ERP system.

Collaborate effectively in the development and enhancement of internal controls within the ERP system, ensuring robust governance and compliance with organizational standards.

Assist in creating and enhancing Internal Controls while optimizing business systems and reporting elements within the Chief ERP system.

Play a pivotal role in conducting thorough risk assessments and maintaining accurate, up-to-date risk registers.

Investigations are initiated as necessary to ensure thorough examination and resolution of issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, supplemented by a minimum of five years of progressive professional experience in the industry. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities are required to collaborate effectively across departments. Prior experience in project management or leadership roles is highly desirable. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and best practices is also a key requirement.

A Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting or a related discipline, along with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification, is required.

Seeking candidates with Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor credentials, along with at least eight years of hands-on experience in auditing, accounting, and ERP implementation.

Seasoned professionals with a track record of conducting audits for projects financed by USAID, the CDC, and other international development collaborators are encouraged to apply.

Proficient in both written and verbal English communication, with a strong command of the language.

Exceptional organizational abilities, a keen eye for detail, and strong prioritization skills are essential. The role requires seamless collaboration with professionals from operations and finance backgrounds.

Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office application software with a high level of expertise.
