Chief is a global health, education, and research organization established by the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s School of Medicine. Comprising a network of international experts, the center collaborates with local partners to address infectious and non-communicable diseases in underserved regions worldwide. Currently, Cited operates programs in seven countries, specializing in technical assistance for health service delivery—with a proven track record in enhancing HIV/TB prevention, care, and treatment, as well as related infectious and non-communicable diseases. The organization also focuses on workforce training and capacity-building, quality improvement initiatives, health information systems, research, and outbreak surveillance and biosecurity. Cited engages across all levels of the health system, integrating facility-based and community-driven approaches into its programs.
