Job Summary:

This role entails maintaining full compliance for Chief-Kenya with all applicable Chief-Kenya, donor, and government mandates. Implementation of industry-leading project management frameworks will achieve this objective, alongside active contributions to the evolution of ERP internal controls. Providing authoritative guidance on donor specifications and regulatory obligations forms a core responsibility, complemented by participation in contract negotiations and reviews. Additionally, the position focuses on strengthening staff competencies and organizational systems to uphold contractual and donor compliance standards.

Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to achieve organizational objectives while ensuring alignment with company policies and industry standards. Oversee key projects from initiation to completion, monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and enhance overall performance. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain accurate documentation to support audits and reporting. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

To maintain robust internal control systems that comply with donor regulations and Chief-Kenya policies.

Conduct thorough reviews of processes, practices, and documents to proactively uncover opportunities for enhancement.

Quarterly donor compliance spot checks are conducted, and a corresponding report is prepared for submission to the Board and CEO. This process involves examining sample documents from Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants, as well as sharing findings with the appropriate staff or departments to initiate corrective measures.

Collaborating closely with the Board and CEO, you will offer specialized technical assistance or promote awareness across all departments and staff regarding donor compliance matters.

Assist in developing internal controls and enhancing the finance, procurement, and reporting functionalities of the proposed Chief ERP system through ongoing improvements.

Play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the internal control framework for the ERP system.

Collaborate on the development of Internal Controls and enhance business systems and reporting components within the Chief ERP system to drive continuous improvement.

Play a pivotal role in conducting comprehensive risk evaluations and maintaining up-to-date risk registers.

Investigations are conducted as necessary to gather pertinent information and ensure thorough analysis.

We are seeking candidates who possess a strong academic background and relevant professional experience. Ideal applicants will hold a degree in a related field and have a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard tools and technologies is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and organizational skills are also required to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

A Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or a related discipline, coupled with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification, is required for this position.

Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor credentials are required along with a minimum of eight years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, and ERP implementation.

Experienced in conducting audits for projects financed by USAID, CDC, and additional development partners.

Proficient in both written and verbal English communication, with a strong command of the language.

Exceptional organizational capabilities and a keen eye for detail are essential, along with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks. Proficiency in collaborating with professionals from both operations and finance disciplines is also required.

Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office suite with advanced-level capabilities.
