Job Purpose
The Office Messenger ensures prompt and reliable messenger and support services for the School, executing essential tasks such as transporting and retrieving documents and materials, managing banking transactions, performing errands across different offices, and delivering comprehensive administrative assistance.
To qualify for this role, a valid Bora Bora license is essential for maintaining efficient and dependable transportation services. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication abilities. While a valid driving license is not mandatory, it may provide an additional benefit in fulfilling job responsibilities.
Oversee a range of critical functions including strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to drive organizational success. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align goals, optimize resources, and foster innovation. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress and identify areas for improvement. Manage budgets, allocate resources, and report financial performance to senior leadership. Lead initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and stakeholder relations. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and corporate governance frameworks while maintaining a focus on sustainability and ethical practices.
You will be responsible for transporting and retrieving official documents, parcels, and correspondence within Nairobi and to designated offices.
Process banking transactions—including deposits, withdrawals, check collections, and deliveries—with precision, discretion, and a strong commitment to professional standards.
Efficient handling of product picking and delivery operations is essential, ensuring accurate retrieval and timely distribution of items to meet customer demands and maintain operational excellence. This role requires meticulous attention to detail in selecting the correct products and preparing them for shipment, as well as coordinating logistics to guarantee prompt and reliable delivery. Proficient use of inventory systems and adherence to established procedures are critical to minimizing errors and optimizing workflow efficiency. The ability to work under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity is a key requirement for success in this position.
Assigned errands are to be executed as instructed.
Maintain professional and respectful communication with staff, external stakeholders, and service providers while performing assigned errands.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all deliveries and collections while consistently meeting established deadlines.
Operate boda services with a strong commitment to safety, ensuring strict adherence to all traffic regulations and established school policies.
Provide support for clerical tasks as needed.
Assist with logistical operations such as sourcing and purchasing materials, as well as coordinating and executing supply deliveries.
Maintain the assigned motorbike in optimal condition, ensuring thorough cleanliness and adherence to maintenance protocols.
Please communicate any incidents, delays, or difficulties encountered during errands without delay to the Line Manager.
Perform additional responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned from time to time to align with organizational requirements.
Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Must possess 3+ years of professional experience in software development, with proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or C++. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential. Experience with Agile methodologies, cloud services, and version control systems like Git is required. Excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous learning are highly valued.
KCSE Certificate
You must hold a high school diploma or It’s equivalent to be considered for this role.
Holders of a Class A1 or Class A2 Bora Bora license are required for this position.
A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in comparable positions, including messenger, driver, or office support roles, is required.
Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities, enabling professional interactions across all organizational levels.
Proficiency in navigating Nairobi’s transportation networks, interacting with government entities, and understanding banking protocols is required.

Working Conditions
Office-based with regular travel outside the school premises for errands.
