The ICT Assistant – Network Administration, reporting to the Head of ICT, evaluates information risk and coordinates the remediation of IT security and risk vulnerabilities throughout Kenya Tea Packers. This role collaborates with the Database Administrator, Business Intelligence, and Reporting teams to provide ICT system support. Additionally, the position ensures secure network connectivity within all Keep offices while maintaining the integrity and security of the company’s systems.
Oversee the primary functions and obligations associated with the role. Ensure all assigned tasks are executed efficiently and in accordance with established guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and outcomes. Evaluates connectivity key performance indicators, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency, to ensure optimal network performance. Additionally, oversees the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of ICT equipment.
Oversee and administer all communications while addressing networking issues by proactively implementing preventive measures for the IT Network, systems, and software applications.
Present detailed findings and recommendations regarding identified vulnerabilities to the Head of ICT for implementation of corrective measures.
Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments utilizing established IT security tools and methodologies to identify and document any IT security or risk exposures present within the network infrastructure, systems, and software applications.
Establishes network specifications through collaboration with users, evaluating workflow, access, information, and security requirements, and then developing router administration, which encompasses interface configuration and routing protocols.
Maintains network performance through proactive monitoring and analysis, as well as performance optimization; identifies and resolves network issues; escalates unresolved problems to external vendors for further assistance.
Secures the network infrastructure by establishing and enforcing access protocols, continuously monitoring network activities, and implementing robust control measures. Additionally, evaluates system performance and ensures all documentation remains current and accurate.
The Head of Enhance will periodically evaluate firewall rules, configurations, and logs in collaboration with the Head of Cyber Defense and Security. This role involves establishing access privileges, control structures, and resource allocations to strengthen overall cyber defense measures.
Provide support to the ICT Manager in evaluating and proposing enhancements to all ICT policies, including the Disaster Recovery Plan, the Company’s Technology Infrastructure and Systems Strategy, and the Business Continuity Planning Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain and update the ICT support helpdesk system while ensuring the delivery of prompt, reliable, and ongoing assistance to all users of information and telecommunication systems.
Offer fundamental instruction and assistance with network access and software application utilization, while collaborating with the ICT Manager to keep all information system documentation current and accurate.
Collaborate with vendor support representatives to assess and revise Service Level Agreements (SLAs), while addressing technical issues impacting end-user hardware, software, and network infrastructure, including MPLS, SD-WAN, and internet connectivity.
Ensure that all PCs, laptops, and servers within the domain/network operate with licensed and up-to-date operating systems and the latest versions of endpoint security software.
Ensure seamless interconnection of all computers with a variety of systems, including validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers, and administrative systems.
Collaborate with the Head of ICT to develop the annual ICT training capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) budgets.
Execute any additional responsibilities delegated by the Systems Administrator or the Head of ICT as required.
