The Sectional IP Network Engineer–Field will deliver MAN network availability and customer uptime KPIs by performing on-site maintenance focused on power-related systems for designated MAN nodes, maintaining service quality and continuity in accordance with company KPIs while adhering to budgeted cost constraints. Additionally, the role involves executing feasibility analyses and implementation projects, as well as managing billing-related disconnections and reconnections of ISDN and PSTN circuits at the MAN level.

Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to enhance productivity, quality, and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and drive innovation across departments. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), financial reports, and market trends to inform data-driven decision-making and resource allocation. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to foster talent retention and high-performing teams. Consistently ensure MAN availability by performing proactive maintenance on node power supplies.

Ensure efficient resolution of assigned MAN and Switch power-related faults while adhering to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key updates are delivered throughout the restoration journey to ensure full transparency for the customer.

Conduct feasibility assessments, implement, and perform disconnections and reconnections for ISDN and PSTN circuits.

Customer setup documentation.

Ensure a secure work environment by adhering to HSE protocols, established engineering standards, defined procedures, and applicable legal regulations.

Monitor individual performance metrics and recommend strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and development.

Monitor and oversee network expenditures while ensuring alignment with Finance department objectives.

Performs additional duties as assigned or delegated by the line manager.

Principal Outputs for this role

Ensure adherence to the predetermined monthly fuel allocation.

Monthly, deliver Street MAN power meter readings to the finance department by the 20th.

Achieving a 99.65% average availability for Nairobi Means throughout the year.

To achieve operational excellence, at least 90% of Nairobi’s Means must consistently meet their Power targets, ensuring adherence to established performance benchmarks.

Ninety percent of all Nairobi Means achieve a score exceeding 90% in Power-related metrics.

Within two hours following payment completion, no less than 80% of disconnected service lines must be restored.

Customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) management requires the completion of at least 80% of all designated provision and cessation cases within a 24-hour timeframe.

Resolving 80% of reported faults within a four-hour window represents a critical performance benchmark for this role. Timely intervention to address issues ensures minimal disruption to operations, aligning with service-level agreements and operational efficiency standards.

Perform quarterly routine maintenance on all MAN nodes, evaluating power autonomy status and providing tailored recommendations for each node.

Deliver assigned Feasibility tickets within a 24-hour timeframe.

A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, or a comparable role. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and ERP systems is essential, as is the ability to interpret complex financial statements and market trends. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or MBA are highly desirable but not mandatory.
