We are currently seeking an Optical Technician to support the delivery of superior optical services, which includes dispensing optical products, fitting and repairing eyewear, performing basic optical measurements, and maintaining exceptional customer care standards for patients.

Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing [specific tasks or areas of responsibility, e.g., project planning, team coordination, financial reporting, etc.], ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize processes, and drive operational efficiency. Develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance productivity, mitigate risks, and foster innovation within the team. Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership to support informed decision-making. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices to uphold organizational integrity and accountability. Serve as a liaison between departments, facilitating seamless communication and fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration.

Interpret prescriptions provided by Optometrists or Ophthalmologists and ensure accurate dispensing in accordance with professional standards.

Provide patients with expert guidance in choosing suitable frames, lenses, and optical accessories tailored to their needs and preferences.

Accurately determine pupillary distance (PD), segment height, and frame fitting measurements.

Examine, service, and ensure the optimal functionality and precision of spectacles and diverse optical equipment through meticulous fitting, adjustment, and repair processes.

Responsibilities include meticulously updating and managing inventory records for frames, lenses, contact lenses, and optical supplies to ensure accuracy and availability.

Before dispensing, meticulously review and validate optical orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.

Maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and overall condition of optical equipment and tools, ensuring they remain in proper working order.

Maintain precise documentation of patient information and medication dispensing in alignment with hospital-established protocols.

Assist in the execution of inventory counts and the acquisition of optical supplies as needed.

Follow all Infection Prevention and Control guidelines while ensuring a consistently clean and sanitized work environment.

Contribute to quality enhancement initiatives conducted in the optical department.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience, along with three or more years of professional experience in the industry. Proficiency in specific software tools and programming languages is required, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively in collaborative team environments. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, as well as a proven track record of delivering high-quality results, are also essential. Additionally, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail is necessary.

A recognized institution must confer a Diploma or Certificate in Optical Technology or Optician.

Professional registration with the appropriate regulatory authority, where applicable, is required.

A minimum of one to two years of professional experience within an optical clinic, hospital environment, or eyewear retail setting is highly beneficial.

Proficiency in optical lenses, frames, and contact lenses, as well as dispensing methodologies, is required.

Candidates must possess a robust set of competencies to excel in this role, including strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and demonstrated leadership experience. Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
