Role Summary
The ideal applicant will instruct Physics within both the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP), fostering a collaborative environment within the Science Department to develop compelling, academically rigorous, and student-focused learning opportunities.
Oversee a range of critical responsibilities essential to the role, including evaluating business needs, aligning solutions with organizational objectives, and fostering strategic partnerships to enhance operational efficiency. Develop and implement innovative strategies that drive growth, optimize performance metrics, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline workflows, and implement best practices that elevate productivity and customer satisfaction. Lead initiatives that support scalable systems, integrate emerging technologies, and maintain robust frameworks to mitigate risks and uphold data integrity.
Design and implement rigorous physics lessons that adhere to the IB MYP and DP frameworks, maintaining alignment with subject-specific goals, assessment standards, and inquiry-driven pedagogical approaches.
Design and create interactive learning activities—such as hands-on investigations and experiments—that foster students’ conceptual grasp, problem-solving abilities, and scientific reasoning.
Develop, administer, and oversee formative and summative assessments in accordance with IB standards, delivering prompt, actionable feedback to foster student growth and academic success.
Employ tailored instructional approaches to address the varied academic requirements of students within a multicultural, international educational setting.
Develop and maintain a secure, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that nurtures student well-being, fosters curiosity, and cultivates a passion for learning.
Maintain clear and professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues to foster collaborative relationships that enhance student learning.
You will play a key role in developing and implementing co-curricular programs, school initiatives, and enrichment activities designed to foster the well-rounded growth of students.
Participate actively in continuous professional learning, reflective practice, and personal growth, with a focus on engaging in International Baccalaureate (IB) professional development initiatives as appropriate.
The requirements
Seeking a candidate with a proven track record in [specific field/industry] and at least [X years] of relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree in [relevant field] or equivalent professional experience is required, and advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. A recognized university must confer a Bachelor’s degree in either Physics or Physics Education.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of five years of instructional experience in secondary Physics, ideally within an international curriculum framework.
Preferred candidates will have prior teaching experience in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP) and/or Diploma Program (DP) Physics.
Proven expertise in facilitating student-centered, inquiry-based learning within diverse, multicultural, international school settings, alongside a comprehensive grasp of assessment methodologies aligned with global educational benchmarks.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration is a mandatory prerequisite for this position.
