Job Summary:
This role is responsible for ensuring Chief-Kenya adheres to all applicable Chief-Kenya, donor, and government policies and requirements. Responsibilities include developing and implementing best practice project management systems, contributing to the design of internal ERP controls, offering specialized guidance on donor mandates and regulations, facilitating contract negotiation and review processes, and strengthening staff and business systems to maintain compliance with contractual and donor stipulations.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity, managing team performance and development, and coordinating cross-functional projects. Key duties involve implementing strategic initiatives, analyzing data to drive decision-making, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies. Additionally, the role entails fostering a collaborative work environment, resolving conflicts, and mentoring staff to achieve departmental objectives.
To maintain robust internal control systems that align with Donor regulations and Chief-Kenya policies.
Conduct thorough reviews of processes, practices, and documentation to uncover opportunities for enhancement.
Conduct quarterly assessments of donor compliance and compile a detailed report for submission to the Board and CEO. This involves examining a representative sample of documentation from Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants, followed by sharing observations with the appropriate staff and departments to initiate corrective measures.
Collaborating closely with the Board and CEO, you will deliver technical support and raise awareness across all departments and staff regarding donor compliance matters.
Assist in developing and refining Internal Controls while enhancing the finance, procurement, and reporting functionalities within the proposed Chief ERP system.
Develop and strengthen the internal control framework for the ERP system, ensuring robust governance, risk management, and compliance measures are in place to safeguard organizational assets and data integrity.
Assist in developing and refining Internal Controls while enhancing business systems and reporting components within the Chief ERP system continuously.
Play a pivotal role in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and maintaining accurate, up-to-date risk registers.
Investigations are carried out as needed to ensure thorough and timely assessments.
Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of professional experience in a comparable role. Ideal applicants will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in industry-standard software, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and a track record of delivering measurable results are essential. Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities are highly valued.
A Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting or a related discipline, coupled with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification, is required for this position.
Seeking a professional with Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor credentials, boasting at least eight years of hands-on experience in auditing, accounting, and ERP implementation.
Demonstrated expertise in conducting audits for projects financed by USAID, CDC, and additional development collaborators.
Proficient in both written and verbal English communication, demonstrating a high level of fluency and clarity.
Exceptional organizational abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively are essential requirements. Proficiency in collaborating and communicating with professionals from both operations and finance disciplines is also necessary.
Proficient in utilizing the full suite of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with advanced-level skills.
