The incumbent will execute the Board’s resolutions efficiently and promptly to advance the company’s strategic priorities, ensuring Board papers are meticulously prepared, pertinent, and distributed to members in a timely manner. Serving as the pivotal liaison between the Board and Management, the role requires seamless communication and coordination to uphold governance excellence.
Leads the assessment and development of geothermal resources, including the planning and implementation of infrastructure and the drilling of geothermal wells.
Develops steam fields while ensuring the responsible stewardship of geothermal resources.
Facilitates the advancement, adoption, and market introduction of geothermal direct use initiatives and solutions.
Oversees the strategic and operational management of Human Resources to ensure peak productivity by implementing policies and frameworks that attract, develop, and retain highly skilled and qualified personnel in alignment with the approved organizational structure.
Offer strategic guidance to the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary regarding the nation’s energy composition and the formulation of sectoral policies.
Deliver timely and consistent updates to the Board regarding critical technical, financial, and administrative developments.
Formulate and present to the Board the Company’s annual business plans, tailored to strategic objectives and operational priorities.
Person Specifications
For consideration at this grade level, applicants must possess the following qualifications:
A minimum of fifteen years of professional experience, including at least ten years in a relevant managerial capacity, is required.
A recognized university degree at the bachelor’s level is required.
A Master’s Degree from an accredited institution is required.
A recognized institution must offer a leadership course comprising a minimum of four (4) consecutive weeks.
A relevant professional qualification and active membership in an applicable professional organization are required.
Demonstrates strong competency in utilizing a variety of computer software and digital tools efficiently.
Ensured compliance with the provisions outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
Proven expertise in critical competencies and technical proficiencies essential for the role. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, solve problems efficiently, and communicate findings clearly. Strong leadership skills with experience guiding teams toward achieving organizational objectives. Proficiency in relevant software systems, data analysis tools, and industry-specific methodologies.
