Chief Executive Officer, Grade ADAM 1: This senior executive role is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operational management, and overall performance of the organization. The position demands extensive leadership experience, proven executive capabilities, and a track record of driving sustainable growth and innovation. Key responsibilities include setting long-term goals, ensuring financial health, fostering stakeholder relationships, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates must possess exceptional decision-making skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to inspire and lead high-performing teams.

The monthly remuneration for this position ranges between Kshs. 260,000 and Kshs. 460,000.

The position is initially for a three-year term, with the option for an additional one-year renewal.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of tasks encompassing core operations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategic goals. Develop, implement, and monitor initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. Collaborate cross-functionally to foster innovation, solve complex challenges, and drive continuous improvement across departments. Maintain rigorous adherence to policies, procedures, and industry regulations while upholding the highest standards of quality and accountability. Provide leadership and guidance to team members, cultivating a culture of excellence, professional growth, and collaborative problem-solving.

The Chief Executive Officer will oversee and execute the following responsibilities: –

Offering strategic direction and guidance to senior management and staff represents a core responsibility of the position.

The annual budgets are prepared, and proper internal controls are established.

The implementation and dissemination of the Board’s strategies, decisions, and policies are key responsibilities of this role.

The annual business plans for the Agency are developed and subsequently recommended to the Board, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational priorities.

To establish and maintain a robust management framework for the Agency, encompassing strategic succession planning initiatives.

Crafting Board papers that are precise, pertinent, and delivered promptly to members is essential to ensure the Board remains fully informed and prepared for effective decision-making.

Act as the intermediary connecting the Board with Management, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration between both parties.

To accomplish the Agency’s objectives, the selected candidate will be responsible for driving key initiatives forward, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, and delivering measurable results. This role requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to execute plans efficiently. The successful applicant will prioritize task completion, monitor progress, and adapt strategies as needed to meet established targets.

Establishing efficient administrative frameworks, streamlining workflows, and implementing robust systems to enhance operational effectiveness.

Delivering consistent, detailed, and timely updates to the Board on critical technical, financial, and administrative issues.

Stakeholder engagement and the strengthening of the Agency’s corporate identity are central to this role.

Effectively executing the directives and resolutions established by the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance with governance standards.

Conduct thorough research to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant data and information essential for informed decision-making, project planning, and strategic initiatives.

We conduct comprehensive testing to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our products. This involves executing test cases, identifying defects, and documenting results to support quality assurance. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in testing methodologies. Additionally, experience with automated testing tools and defect tracking systems is advantageous. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, validating fixes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Conducting thorough investigations is a key responsibility of this role. You will be tasked with examining and analyzing complex issues to uncover critical information and ensure accurate findings. This position requires a meticulous approach to gathering evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and documenting all findings meticulously. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize information are essential to succeed in this position. You must also maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards throughout the investigative process.

Results management involves overseeing and analyzing performance metrics to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. This includes monitoring key results, evaluating progress against targets, and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Responsibilities encompass data collection, performance tracking, and reporting findings to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential, along with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.

Provide administrative assistance to the Therapeutic Use Exemption Committee.

The formulation, development, and implementation of the Agency’s strategic plan, along with any additional plans, are essential to fulfill the Agency’s mandate effectively.

The staff’s organization and management responsibilities include overseeing team coordination and ensuring efficient workflow. This role entails supervising personnel, assigning tasks, and maintaining productivity standards. Additionally, it requires implementing effective management strategies to support both individual and collective performance goals.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Board, as necessary.

The Chief Executive Officer will serve as the Secretary to the Board, fulfilling the responsibilities associated with this role.

Candidates seeking appointment must fulfill the following prerequisites: a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in the specified field, a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline, and proficiency in industry-standard software tools. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of professional integrity. Familiarity with applicable regulations and best practices is also essential.

The position of Chief Executive Officer may only be filled by an individual who meets the following criteria:

Requires a postgraduate qualification from a reputable institution, complemented by a minimum of five years of professional experience in sports or administrative roles.

Possesses expertise and hands-on experience in anti-doping policies and procedures.

Ensures full compliance with the provisions outlined in Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

In addition to these requirements, candidates must submit their applications through the designated process outlined by the Board Chairman.

The Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAM) is responsible for ensuring compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code, thereby safeguarding the integrity of sports in the country. Its core functions include conducting testing, investigations, and education initiatives to prevent doping violations. ADAM collaborates with national and international stakeholders to uphold anti-doping standards and promote fair play in sports. The agency also manages the National Registered Testing Pool and maintains a robust anti-doping program to protect athletes’ rights and health. Additionally, ADAM enforces sanctions against violations and provides support for clean sport advocacy.

Responsible for overseeing mail operations at Postal Office Box 66458-00800, ensuring efficient distribution of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
