In collaboration with the Country Director, establish and oversee the creation and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising and business continuity strategy for the Country Office.
Maintain and periodically refresh the Country Office funding pipeline by monitoring opportunities and tracking proposal statuses.
Research and monitor forthcoming funding prospects from private and institutional donors by leveraging donor funding intelligence and cultivating strategic partner relationships.
Design and refine tools, guidelines, and templates to enhance donor intelligence information management and accessibility.
Lead efforts to prepare for upcoming funding opportunities by identifying and collaborating with key partners—such as international and national NGOs, academic institutions, research organizations, and government ministries—to establish consortia. Coordinate the drafting of teaming agreements and craft compelling strategies and pitches to enhance the likelihood of securing competitive funding.
Working closely with the Head of Programs, organize and lead visits to WHH Somalia/Somaliland field locations for donors and prospective partners, highlighting key successes, measurable impact, and funding gaps.
Lead proposal development initiatives by overseeing end-to-end processes, managing proposal timelines with precision, and coordinating cross-functional inputs to ensure seamless execution. Serve as the primary author of proposals aimed at securing new business opportunities, driving clarity, persuasiveness, and strategic alignment throughout each document.
Oversee the compilation and preparation of evidence briefs, capacity statements, and associated documentation. Provide assistance with evidence-gathering activities as needed.
Identify and nurture connections with prospective donors spanning individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities, ensuring a diversified donor framework that encompasses non-traditional sources and foundations, particularly in Gulf states.
Your profile
A professional qualification, complemented by additional certification or vocational training, or equivalent practical experience, is required.
A minimum of five to seven years of professional experience, particularly within the Global South, with at least five of those years specifically focused on the Somali context.
Field experiences in the Somali region is essential, complemented by a comprehensive grasp of the area’s humanitarian and development coordination frameworks and aid architecture.
Demonstrated success in obtaining institutional funding from prominent bilateral and multilateral donors.
Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the Somali funding environment, encompassing traditional, emerging, and novel donor networks.
Experienced in implementing resilience initiatives within arid and semi-arid environments, with a focus on climate adaptation strategies, sustainable livelihoods’ development, and food security enhancement.
Demonstrated ability and medical eligibility to receive all mandatory vaccinations essential for international travel and deployment.
You understand the increasing importance of data in your profession and are motivated to enhance your knowledge and capabilities to apply data-driven methodologies in your professional responsibilities.
Proficient in both written and verbal English communication.
