"UN-Habitat: Driving sustainable urban development globally."
The United Nations Human Settlements Program, UN-Habitat, serves as the United Nations’ agency dedicated to human settlements. Authorized by the UN General Assembly, its mission is to advance socially and environmentally sustainable urban and rural communities, with a focus on ensuring adequate housing for all. The Urban Economy Branch of UN-Habitat is tasked with strengthening local governments’ capacities to create financial tools that address the challenges posed by rapid urbanization. Additionally, the Urban Economy Branch is responsible for promoting strategies and offering technical assistance to develop more efficient, socially inclusive, well-integrated, and interconnected cities that drive sustainable urban development.
