The monthly salary ranges from KSS. 34,420 for the initial 1,300 hours, increasing incrementally to Kshs. 35,720 for 1,380 hours, Kshs. 37,100 for 1,390 hours, Kshs. 38,490 for 1,460 hours, Kshs. 39,950 for 1,470 hours, Kshs. 41,420 for another 1,470 hours, Kshs. 42,890 for 1,520 hours, Kshs. 44,410 for 1,710 hours, and ultimately reaches Kshs. 46,120 per month.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties, ensuring all operational and strategic objectives are met with precision and efficiency. This role encompasses the execution of key responsibilities, including but not limited to, managing daily workflows, coordinating team efforts, and maintaining adherence to established policies and procedures. The position demands a high level of accountability, with a focus on delivering consistent, high-quality results while fostering collaboration and innovation within the team. Additionally, the role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and challenges in a dynamic work environment.

This position serves as the initial and developmental stage within this professional track. An incumbent in this role will perform duties under the mentorship and oversight of an experienced officer.

Responsibilities include maintaining efficient office operations, coordinating departmental communications, and ensuring smooth administrative processes. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of relevant experience, proficiency in office software, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. At this level, the role involves overseeing a broad range of administrative functions, including managing general operational tasks, enforcing county regulations, and safeguarding government assets, facilities, and inventory. The position also requires coordinating infrastructure maintenance, transport services, and office accommodation planning, as well as supervising the procurement, development, and upkeep of office equipment and furniture. Additionally, the role entails organizing and facilitating meetings, conferences, and special events, while ensuring the proper maintenance of buildings and furnishings.

Field Administration involves overseeing and managing field operations to ensure efficient execution of tasks, compliance with company policies, and alignment with organizational goals. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to coordinate teams, monitor performance, and resolve operational challenges in dynamic environments. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating field activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The position demands effective communication with stakeholders, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions while driving productivity and operational excellence.

The incumbent will report to and operate under the direction of a senior officer. This role involves establishing and maintaining professional networks and partnerships with key stakeholders, addressing public inquiries and concerns, and overseeing the monitoring and assessment of community initiatives. Additionally, the officer will support local-level resource mobilization efforts, encourage citizen engagement in developmental projects, and ensure adherence to occupational health and safety standards. Promoting ethical practices and the principles of good governance will also be a core responsibility, alongside analyzing and compiling data related to development activities. Furthermore, the officer will coordinate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate public participation forums.

The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, alongside expertise in database management and cloud computing platforms. Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment are required. Additionally, familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is necessary. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning are also expected.

An officer must meet the following requirements for appointment to this grade:

A recognized institution must award a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Community Development, or any related field within the Social Sciences.

A diploma in computer applications is required for this position.
