As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of critical tasks that drive operational efficiency and strategic growth. Deliver comprehensive technical and operational assistance to strategic planning and corporate coordination initiatives, encompassing the following responsibilities:

Assist in the formulation, integration, and oversight of the UNSC’s annual work plan, results frameworks, and strategic planning documents to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Prepare strategic notes, concept notes, and internal planning documents in support of the Deputy Director and senior management of UNSC.

Support the incorporation of gender equality and women’s empowerment priorities into UN-wide processes, collaborative frameworks, and system-level initiatives.

Prepare briefing notes, background papers, and presentations for senior leadership engagements, inter-agency meetings, and external events, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Deliver specialized technical and operational assistance to the United Nations system and inter-agency coordination initiatives.

Support the compilation, analysis, and continuous updating of current information regarding UN system coordination mechanisms, technical bodies, and inter-agency processes pertinent to UNSC.

Provide support for the coordination and follow-up of activities related to the United Nations Common Development Framework (UNC) across the UN system.

Deliver comprehensive substantive and operational assistance in the preparation and execution of high-level inter-agency meetings, events, or initiatives, including coordination related to the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and consultations within the United Nations system.

Offer technical assistance to the Secretariat of the Gender Equality Acceleration Plan (GAP).

Offer comprehensive technical and operational assistance to the coordination and partnership initiatives of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UCSD), ensuring seamless collaboration and effective implementation of strategic objectives.

Facilitate UNSC’s collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders—such as UN bodies, Member States, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and other relevant partners—to enhance system-wide coordination on gender equality initiatives.

Assist with the arrangement and documentation of coordination meetings, consultations, and briefings organized by UNSC, which involves drafting agendas, compiling background notes, producing summaries, and tracking action points.

Facilitate seamless internal collaboration between UN Women divisions and offices to align with UNSC mandates and deliverables.

By assisting in background research, crafting proposal inputs, and conducting stakeholder outreach, you will play a key role in advancing advocacy initiatives, strengthening communications strategies, and driving resource mobilization efforts.

Graduated from an accredited university within the past two years or will complete degree requirements within that timeframe; upon selection, must begin the internship within two years of graduating.

Enrollment in a postgraduate professional traineeship program, integrated within a degree curriculum, is mandatory, with the internship serving as a core component of the program’s fulfillment criteria.
