A position has opened within our Kenya Crop Protection Commercial Function, seeking a technically and commercially adept professional to assume a pivotal role in providing strategic key account management for our Large Scale customer segment while driving business growth. This opportunity allows the selected candidate to:

Drive the cultivation and management of Tangent’s most high-value customer relationships by fostering enduring partnerships and delivering sustainable strategic value.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining strong relationships with current customers while simultaneously identifying and capitalizing on new business prospects within the large-scale customer segment.

Develop and implement sales initiatives in alignment with the Commercial Organization’s established strategies and objectives, ensuring the attainment of predetermined business targets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

To successfully attain commercial objectives, you will deliver measurable results by executing strategic initiatives and optimizing sales performance. This involves setting and exceeding revenue goals, expanding market share, and enhancing customer acquisition strategies. Additionally, you will analyze market trends, evaluate competitive landscapes, and identify growth opportunities to drive sustained profitability. Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain key client relationships are essential. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development, will be critical to aligning business strategies with market demands.

To ensure the attainment of mutually agreed and formally documented sales targets within the designated territory.

Formulate and implement tailored business strategies for customers, establishing distinct objectives for volume, value, and profitability.

Collaborate on establishing mutually beneficial commercial agreements, pricing strategies, and promotional expenditures to maximize shared value.

Oversee credit exposure and payment terms to ensure strict adherence to established company guidelines.

Oversee distributor accounts to maintain a zero balance in Bad & Doubtful Debt Provision (BDDP) at the end of each fiscal year.

Accurately forecast demand and oversee inventory planning in collaboration with key accounts.

Responsible for cultivating and sustaining long-term client relationships, the Key Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between high-value customers and internal teams. Duties include strategic planning to identify growth opportunities, negotiating contract terms, and ensuring client satisfaction aligns with company objectives. Additionally, the role requires analyzing customer data to forecast needs, presenting tailored solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional departments to deliver seamless service. Strong interpersonal skills, a results-driven mindset, and proficiency in CRM platforms are essential, along with a proven track record in account retention and revenue expansion.

Drive sustainable business growth and value creation for key customers by leading and executing strategic account management initiatives.

Develop, execute, and refine strategic initiatives and business plans for key accounts to accelerate growth and foster enduring partnerships at the C-level.

Leverage digital analytics, Salesforce, Dropwise, and other CRM tools to ensure structured customer engagement and systematic opportunity management.

Orchestrate the creation and implementation of detailed Channel Strategies tailored to the designated territory, with the goal of fostering sustainable business expansion and enhancing profitability.

Develop and implement comprehensive market strategies from inception to execution, encompassing marketing campaigns, sales enablement initiatives, and technical support functions. Additionally, foster strong collaboration with supply chain and customer operations teams to ensure alignment and maximize overall effectiveness.

Proactively identify, evaluate, and track market trends while managing business risks and opportunities in key accounts by systematically monitoring market dynamics, the competitive environment, and customer financial stability.

Formulate strategic approaches to mitigate commercial risks while leveraging growth opportunities to safeguard and enhance organizational value.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required. Proficiency in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and tools, along with strong problem-solving abilities, is essential. Experience with software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment, is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and agile methodologies is a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment are necessary.
