Our client, a rapidly expanding mid-sized freight forwarding company based in Nairobi, handles air and sea cargo from major global hubs, including Dubai, Guangzhou, London, Milan, Johannesburg, Istanbul, and Amsterdam. They process between 80 and 100 tonnes of air freight monthly, encompassing both commercial and personal shipments, alongside the daily dispatch of one 40ft container. Their services encompass the entire logistics chain, offering complete visibility from warehouse intake and customs clearance to final-mile delivery.

A seasoned and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is sought by our client to assume complete operational leadership, enhance organizational processes, and spearhead the next stage of strategic growth.

Overseeing a diverse array of critical functions and duties, the position entails a broad spectrum of strategic and operational responsibilities designed to drive organizational success. Key tasks include analyzing market trends to inform decision-making, developing and implementing innovative business strategies, and ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration to achieve company objectives. Additionally, the role demands rigorous management of financial resources, meticulous oversight of project timelines, and consistent delivery of high-quality results aligned with corporate goals. Strong leadership, exceptional analytical capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for excelling in this dynamic environment.

You will oversee a total of seven departments, including Sales, Customer Service, Transport, Marketing, Call Center, Warehouse, and Operations, ensuring cohesive leadership and strategic alignment across all teams.

Achieve a 20% to 30% increase in revenue compared to the previous year while simultaneously enhancing profitability through strategic initiatives and cost-efficient measures.

Elevate client satisfaction by expediting resolutions for delays, breakages, and claims.

Responsibilities include managing air freight operations, sea container logistics, warehousing activities, transportation networks, and customs clearance processes.

Develop and nurture robust international collaborations while integrating advanced technological solutions to enhance tracking capabilities and operational efficiency.

Educational Background and Professional Experience:

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, complemented by a minimum of [X] years of progressive work experience in [specific industry/role]. Proficiency in the regulatory frameworks governing Kenya and East Africa, including those administered by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Kenya Ports Authority (PA), and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEYS), is essential.

A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a closely related discipline is required; possession of an MBA or certifications such as CULT or FIAT would further strengthen your candidacy.
