Job Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring Chief-Kenya adheres to all organizational, donor, and governmental policies and standards. Responsibilities include implementing and utilizing industry-leading project management frameworks, playing a key role in enhancing ERP internal controls, offering specialized guidance on donor-specific requirements and regulations, facilitating contract negotiations and assessments, and strengthening staff and operational systems to maintain alignment with contractual and donor mandates.

Overseeing a diverse range of duties, the position entails managing key operational tasks, ensuring seamless project execution, and maintaining alignment with organizational objectives. Primary responsibilities include coordinating team efforts, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing strategic initiatives to drive efficiency. Additionally, the role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders is essential to foster innovation and achieve sustainable growth.

To maintain the effectiveness of existing internal control frameworks and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements set by Donors as well as Chief-Kenya policies.

Diligently evaluate processes, practices, and documents to uncover opportunities for optimization.

Conduct quarterly reviews to ensure donor compliance and compile a corresponding report for submission to the Board and CEO. These reviews involve examining sample documents from Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants, as well as sharing findings with the appropriate staff and departments to facilitate corrective measures.

In partnership with the Board and CEO, deliver technical assistance or educational initiatives to all departments and staff regarding donor compliance matters.

Assist in developing Internal Controls and enhancing the finance, procurement, and reporting modules within the proposed Chief ERP system to ensure ongoing optimization.

Play a pivotal role in enhancing and implementing internal controls within the ERP system.

Provide assistance in developing internal controls and enhancing business systems and reporting elements within the Chief ERP system on an ongoing basis.

Play a key role in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and maintaining accurate, up-to-date risk registers.

Investigations are conducted as needed to ensure thorough compliance and operational integrity.

We seek candidates with a strong academic background and relevant professional experience in the field. Ideal applicants will possess a minimum of three years of hands-on experience, along with specialized training or certifications pertinent to the role. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, while advanced degrees or additional qualifications are advantageous. Proficiency in industry-specific tools and software is essential, and familiarity with current trends and best practices is highly valued. Previous roles in similar environments, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills, are preferred.

A Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting or a closely related field, coupled with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification, is required.

Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor credentials, alongside at least eight years of hands-on experience in auditing, accounting, and ERP system deployment.

Experienced in conducting audits for projects supported by USAID, CDC, and other development partners.

Proficient English writing and verbal communication abilities are essential.

Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for prioritization, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. The ability to effectively collaborate and manage relationships with professionals from both operational and finance backgrounds is also required.

Proficient in utilizing the full suite of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with advanced expertise in their respective functionalities.
