Execute a comprehensive range of duties and obligations encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to ensure organizational success. Oversee daily activities, delegate tasks efficiently, and monitor progress to maintain high productivity and adherence to established standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align goals, resolve challenges, and foster a collaborative work environment. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality benchmarks while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to enhance their skills, performance, and professional development. Analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and implement data-driven strategies to optimize efficiency and achieve key performance indicators.

Provide leadership and operational guidance to security and conservation teams, maintain accurate records while safeguarding confidentiality, facilitate seamless communication among the JOCK, KWS, and NRT, and oversee departmental meetings and training sessions. Additionally, monitor staff leave and off-day schedules to ensure full adherence to organizational policies.

The Procurement & Logistics team is responsible for managing requisitions, handling purchase orders, coordinating supply deliveries, overseeing vehicle maintenance, and ensuring adherence to all licensing requirements.

Financial Management & Budgeting: Responsible for creating and overseeing budgets for General Security and Armed Security operations, meticulously tracking expenditures, and ensuring strict adherence to contractual obligations. Additionally, this role involves close collaboration with Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), and Grants teams to maintain financial integrity and accountability.

Grants & Fundraising: Responsibilities include preparing and submitting grant applications, assisting with fundraising campaigns, and ensuring adherence to donor requirements and regulations.

Compile and standardize monitoring and evaluation data, conduct thorough reviews of submissions from all departments, and produce detailed incident and operational reports.

Coordinate with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and key stakeholders to uphold adherence to Kenyan legal frameworks and donor-specific regulations. Represent LEA in Joint Operations Coordination Committee (JOCK) meetings, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.

Performs additional duties as required or assigned from time to time.

Job Specifications

The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:

A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent discipline is required.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

With a minimum of three to five years of experience in administrative and financial coordination—ideally within the fields of conservation or security—you possess a strong foundation in managing budgets, streamlining processes, and ensuring compliance with operational standards. Your expertise in coordinating resources, maintaining financial records, and supporting cross-functional teams will be instrumental in maintaining efficient workflows and achieving organizational objectives.

In environments funded by nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) or donors, the role requires adaptability to dynamic funding landscapes and strict compliance with donor-imposed regulations and reporting standards.

Skilled in Information Technology, with expertise in data management, reporting systems, Microsoft Office, and security software.

Proficiency in Kenyan wildlife conservation legislation is required.

Demonstrates exceptional ability to organize tasks efficiently and make well-informed decisions promptly.

Must be able to function autonomously and manage tasks without constant supervision.
