You will be tasked with managing a variety of operational duties, including overseeing projects, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to established protocols. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring performance metrics, reporting progress to stakeholders, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar position is required, along with proficiency in industry-specific software and excellent communication abilities.

Collaborate with the Country Director to craft and assume responsibility for a comprehensive fundraising and business continuity strategy tailored to the Country Office.

Maintain and update the Country Office funding pipeline on a regular basis, ensuring that opportunities and proposal statuses are consistently tracked.

Proactively identify and monitor pertinent upcoming funding opportunities from both private and institutional donors by leveraging donor funding intelligence and cultivating partner relationships.

Create and sustain resources, protocols, and frameworks dedicated to donor intelligence information.

Lead proactive initiatives to secure upcoming funding by identifying and engaging key stakeholders—such as international and national NGOs, academic institutions, research bodies, and relevant government ministries—to establish collaborative consortia. Develop and formalize teaming agreements while crafting compelling strategies and pitches to enhance the competitiveness of funding proposals.

Working alongside the Head of Programs, arrange and oversee visits for donors and prospective partners to WHH Somalia/Somaliland field locations, highlighting key achievements, demonstrating impact, and identifying areas where additional funding is required.

Lead proposal development initiatives while overseeing all aspects of proposal timelines and managing the integration of contributions from various stakeholders. Serve as the principal author, crafting compelling proposals that support the pursuit of new business opportunities.

Lead the compilation of evidence briefs, capacity statements, and supporting documentation. Provide assistance with evidence-gathering initiatives as needed.

Establish and nurture connections with prospective donors spanning individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities, emphasizing donor diversification strategies that incorporate non-traditional sources and foundations from Gulf states.

Your profile

Professional qualifications, supplemented by additional certifications or vocational training, or relevant hands-on experience of equal value, are required.

Candidates must possess a minimum of five to seven years of professional experience in the Global South, with at least five of those years specifically focused on the Somali context.

Seasoned professional with hands-on field experience in the Somali region, coupled with a deep understanding of its humanitarian and development coordination frameworks and aid ecosystem.

Demonstrates a successful history of obtaining substantial institutional funding from key bilateral and multilateral donors.

Proven expertise in navigating the Somali funding ecosystem, encompassing both well-established and emerging donors, as well as those with innovative approaches.

Professional experience in implementing resilience-building initiatives within arid and semi-arid environments, with a focus on climate adaptation strategies, livelihood enhancement, and food security interventions is required.

Demonstrated ability and medical eligibility to obtain all necessary vaccinations required for international travel and deployment assignments.

Fluent proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
