Your Mission
As a valued member of our expanding R&D team, you will be instrumental in driving customer engagement and satisfaction across Kenya and East Africa. Reporting directly to the R&D Director, your responsibilities will include delivering advanced technical expertise, developing premium finished products, and offering cutting-edge bakery and pâtisserie solutions tailored to Pirates’ product portfolio. Collaboration with both Sales and R&D teams will be essential to sustain existing business relationships and identify new prospects by providing outstanding technical support, conducting impactful demonstrations, and introducing innovative product concepts.
What you will do
Our role involves empowering customers through technical demonstrations, hands-on training sessions, interactive workshops, and engaging events, while also offering direct support to address their needs effectively.
Develop cutting-edge finished goods and concepts by monitoring global and local trends, formulating recipes, and customizing product solutions to align with customer visits.
Support business development initiatives by promoting Pirates’ focus products, cultivating and enhancing existing partnerships, uncovering new opportunities, and actively participating in marketing efforts.
Work collaboratively with R&D, Sales, and Marketing teams throughout new product development by contributing technical expertise, conducting rigorous product testing, actively participating in launch initiatives, and producing supporting materials such as high-quality photos, promotional videos, and compelling concept presentations.
Maintain a polished and professional environment within the Innovation Center while cultivating strategic networks, guaranteeing operational preparedness, and fostering meaningful customer relationships.
Develop a comprehensive recipe data bank by designing innovative pastry recipes tailored to meet specific culinary standards and market demands.
Provide comprehensive assistance to all regions across Kenya in executing the necessary tasks.
What we expect from you
Seasoned professionals with at least five years of hands-on experience in production within the food manufacturing, bakery, or pâtisserie industries are encouraged to apply.
Exceptional proficiency in both verbal and written communication, along with the ability to deliver compelling and polished presentations, is essential.
Proven ability to effectively engage and collaborate with customers, internal cross-functional teams, and external third parties, demonstrating strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in organizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
Regular travel within the country is essential for this role, requiring consistent mobility to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
Capable of thriving within a global organizational framework, this role demands adaptability and cross-cultural competence. Proficiency in navigating diverse business environments and collaborating with international teams is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, openness to change, and the ability to align with varied corporate cultures and practices.
