Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational objectives. Implement and monitor processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement across all business functions. Serve as a key liaison between departments, fostering alignment and synergy to optimize performance and achieve key milestones. Analyze data and performance metrics to identify trends, mitigate risks, and recommend data-driven solutions. Lead and mentor teams to enhance productivity, professional development, and accountability. Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies while maintaining high ethical and professional integrity.

Offer comprehensive logistical coordination for field operations, encompassing sampling procedures and data processing tasks.

Assist in managing laboratory functions and developing primary cell line cultures.

Responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance and monitoring of stem cell cultures and biobanked cell lines to uphold their quality and viability.

Carry out the differentiation of or ganoids following standardized protocols.

Perform biobanking operations, such as cryopreservation and sample management.

Perform molecular biology assays and facilitate cellular characterization procedures.

Maintain precise data documentation while assisting with data management protocols and Digital Sequence Information (DSI) processes.

Ensure adherence to all project documentation obligations, laboratory biosafety regulations, and rigorous quality assurance standards throughout operations.

Facilitate capacity-building efforts and foster productive partnerships with World Fish and National Agricultural Research Systems (CARS) project collaborators.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement efforts by organizing and executing training programs and outreach campaigns.

Establish and advocate for the consistent application of biosafety standards and ethical research guidelines, ensuring all procedures are followed with diligence and accountability.

Drafting and preparing manuscripts and publications represents a key responsibility, involving the creation and refinement of written content to meet scholarly and editorial standards. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong writing proficiency, and the ability to adhere to formatting and citation guidelines. Additionally, collaboration with co-authors and editors may be necessary to ensure clarity, coherence, and accuracy in the final output.

Execute any additional duties that may be assigned as necessary to support ongoing operations and meet departmental objectives.

Requirements

A relevant academic qualification in molecular biology, biotechnology, animal science, cell biology, genetics, biomedical sciences, veterinary sciences, aquatic biology, or closely related fields, at either the bachelor’s degree or diploma level, is required.

With a degree, you should have at least two years of related professional experience, while a diploma requires a minimum of four years in the field.

Proficient in conducting molecular biology and biotechnology laboratory procedures, with a strong foundation in experimental workflows and techniques.

Accomplished expertise in sterile tissue culture methodologies is required.

Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and gel electrophoresis, is essential.

Proven proficiency in the manipulation and processing of biological specimens, coupled with adept operation of laboratory apparatus, is required. Candidates should possess hands-on expertise in managing and maintaining essential lab equipment to ensure accurate and efficient experimental workflows.

Capable of meticulously documenting laboratory activities and findings with precision and thoroughness.

Proficient knowledge of biosafety protocols and laboratory quality management systems is required.

Proficiency in stem cell culture methodologies or or ganoid systems is required.

Proficiency in cryopreservation techniques and biobanking operations is required.

Proficiency in livestock or aquatic genetic resources is required.

Proficiency in genomics or sequencing workflows is required.

Proficiency in utilizing laboratory information management systems (LIES) is essential.

Proficiency in ABS, DSI, or biodiversity governance frameworks is advantageous.
