POSITION SUMMARY:

The Protection Associate will take the lead in delivering structured case management services to refugees and asylum seekers facing psychosocial challenges. This position involves conducting assessments, developing case plans, coordinating referrals, and performing follow-ups to ensure individuals receive timely, confidential, and appropriate assistance. Additionally, the Associate will play a key role in enhancing integrated, client-centered case management systems within HIS programs, integrating MHPSS principles into broader protection strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform initial evaluations and risk assessments to determine client requirements, then design tailored case plans to address identified needs.

Ensure prompt referrals to suitable services and conduct consistent follow-ups to track progress and evaluate outcomes.

Document all pertinent case details within the confidential case management system, ensuring strict adherence to data protection and confidentiality protocols; subsequently, compile and produce comprehensive reports to facilitate informed programmatic decision-making.

Maintain accurate and current service mapping and referral pathways to facilitate seamless, integrated case management.

Proactively assess individuals in need of tailored mental health interventions and facilitate seamless connections to suitable care providers.

Incorporate foundational psychosocial support strategies into case management practices to uphold a trauma-informed and client-centered methodology.

Engage in community outreach initiatives to pinpoint individuals in need and assist them in connecting with case management services.

Facilitate the implementation of community-based systems to ensure the secure identification and appropriate referral of individuals requiring assistance.

Engage in mental health and psychosocial awareness initiatives designed to foster proactive help-seeking behaviors while actively combating associated stigmas.

Work collaboratively with protection teams to deliver integrated and comprehensive assistance to vulnerable individuals, addressing issues such as those stemming from violence, child protection risks, and other protection-related concerns.

Develop and sustain productive partnerships with collaborators, local organizations, and service providers to enhance referral pathways and ensure seamless service delivery.

Compile comprehensive reports promptly and accurately detailing case management activities, emerging trends, challenges, and service gaps to ensure informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Analyze evolving client requirements and support enhancements to programs and strategic response initiatives.

Guarantee adherence to HIS policies regarding safeguarding, accountability to affected populations, and data protection.

Provide guidance and facilitate training initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and competencies of staff and community stakeholders in case management methodologies, secure handling procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Handle any additional responsibilities or tasks as directed by management to support operational needs and ensure organizational goals are met.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of three years of experience in a related role is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with project management tools are required. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with a collaborative mindset, are equally important. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the capacity to manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

A relevant academic background, such as a degree in psychology, sociology, social work, community development, or a closely aligned discipline, is required.

A minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience in case management, specifically within Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) or protection programming, is required.

Proficiency in collaborating with refugees or other underserved communities is highly desirable.

Proficient in applying case management principles, adhering to IAS MHPSS guidelines, and implementing safeguarding frameworks ensures comprehensive and ethical service delivery.

Proficient in Accountability to Affected Populations principles is required.
