Job Summary
The Utility Technician will oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of pharmaceutical water treatment and compressed air systems, ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality utilities that meet GMP and regulatory standards. This position requires process monitoring, routine sampling and testing, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and meticulous record-keeping to uphold product quality, safety, and compliance.
Oversee a diverse range of critical duties integral to the role’s success, including managing project timelines to ensure timely completion, coordinating cross-functional teams to maximize efficiency, and maintaining rigorous standards of quality control. Additionally, the position demands the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals, as well as the identification and mitigation of potential risks to safeguard project integrity. Proficiency in utilizing advanced tools and methodologies to streamline processes and enhance productivity is essential, alongside the ability to analyze complex data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Operate and maintain water treatment systems such as reverse osmosis (RO), electro deionization (EDI), filtration units, water softeners, UV disinfection systems, and distribution loops.
Operate and maintain compressed air systems, which encompass compressors, dryers, filters, receivers, and distribution networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Perform regular water sampling and analysis to assess various parameters, such as pH levels, conductivity, microbial presence, and chlorine residuals.
Maintain compressed air quality in accordance with pharmaceutical regulations, specifically ISO 8573 and GMP standards.
Conduct systematic inspections and carry out preventive maintenance tasks on pumps, valves, filters, membranes, and piping systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities include meticulously documenting operational activities, maintenance tasks, and test results to ensure all records are precise and up-to-date.
Ensure the safe handling of treatment chemicals while adhering to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.
Facilitate troubleshooting efforts and drive ongoing enhancement initiatives to optimize performance and resolve issues efficiently.
Qualifications
A degree or diploma in Chemical & Process Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Water Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
Seeking candidates with at least three years of hands-on experience in utilities operations or as a technician.
A background in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations would be particularly beneficial.
