Overseeing a comprehensive range of critical tasks, the role involves managing and executing core duties with precision and efficiency. Accountability spans across strategic planning, operational oversight, and performance evaluation to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Direct and oversee initial-stage project initiatives, guiding them from strategic planning and development through to implementation and final delivery.

Create comprehensive project plans, detailed schedules, and accurate budgets, while also implementing effective progress tracking tools to ensure seamless and efficient project execution.

Coordinate technical, commercial, procurement, logistics, health, safety, and environmental (HSE), and operational workstreams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across all functions.

Track project schedules, assess potential risks, oversee budgets, and evaluate performance metrics to guarantee the successful completion of projects.

Prepare Expressions of Interest (Lois), tenders, technical proposals, and commercial submissions.

Explore and monitor emerging business prospects throughout Kenya and the broader East African region.

Facilitate the organization and execution of project meetings, stakeholder interactions, and progress assessment sessions to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the initiative.

Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with operators, contractors, and technical service providers to enhance partnership growth.

Ensure adherence to HSEQ standards, contractual commitments, and applicable regulatory mandates.

Compile project reports, create dashboards, produce management updates, and develop executive-level presentations.

Facilitate budgeting processes, conduct commercial evaluations, and contribute to operational planning initiatives.

Cultivate and sustain productive partnerships with clients, regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal colleagues to ensure seamless collaboration and project success.

Drive ongoing enhancements, foster cross-functional teamwork, and optimize project execution methodologies.

Execute all additional responsibilities as deemed necessary to facilitate the successful operation of business activities.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or mathematics, along with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in software development or a closely related discipline. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++, as well as familiarity with frameworks, libraries, and development tools pertinent to the role. Strong problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. Additionally, prior experience with version control systems, such as Git, and an understanding of agile methodologies are highly valued.

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Energy, Business, or a related discipline is required. Possession of a Master’s degree is advantageous.

Requires a minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in the oil and gas, energy, or infrastructure industries.

Proficiency in upstream oil and gas project or operational support is strongly preferred.

Seasoned professional with extensive expertise in leading project coordination, cultivating relationships with stakeholders, and driving business development initiatives.

Agile Project Management certification, along with credentials such as PMP or PRINCE2—or their equivalents—will be considered an advantageous qualification.

Possesses a solid grasp of key project management principles, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management strategies.

Exceptional proficiency in analysis, problem resolution, and strategic decision-making is essential for this role.

Proven ability to communicate effectively, coordinate seamlessly, and engage stakeholders with professionalism and clarity.

Demonstrated capacity to effectively oversee several projects and competing priorities simultaneously in dynamic, high-pressure settings.
