Group Function Legal Affairs & Compliance (GALA) in EMEA delivers strategic guidance on commercial, regulatory, governance, and compliance issues, ensuring alignment with business objectives while safeguarding Ericsson’s interests and reputation.

As Group Legal Counsel within the East & North Africa legal team, you will provide leadership and guidance on legal matters spanning designated territories, encompassing commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory compliance, data protection, competition law, intellectual property, sanctions and trade controls, as well as dispute resolution. In this role, you will collaborate extensively with business and legal stakeholders to manage high-value customer and supplier agreements, forge strategic partnerships, oversee corporate transactions, ensure robust governance, and deliver expert legal advice.

You will join the legal team for the Customer Unit East & North Africa, reporting directly to the Head of Legal for this division. The role will be situated within one of the designated territories across the region.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a reliable legal advisor, delivering pragmatic and strategic recommendations that align with business goals and facilitate the successful completion of transactions.

Skilled in facilitating and guiding discussions to finalize intricate agreements involving customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.

Proactively evaluate, address, and reduce legal and operational risks to support strategic growth initiatives and organizational transformation.

Provide expert guidance on corporate governance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, navigating competition laws, safeguarding data protection protocols, managing intellectual property assets, and overseeing trade control compliance.

Cultivate robust connections among diverse business units, functional areas, and global regions to enhance collaboration and promote transparency.

Facilitate the enhancement of organizational capabilities by providing coaching, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and implementing best-practice initiatives.

Foster a team environment characterized by inclusivity, high performance, and collaboration.

What You’ll Bring

A seasoned attorney with a minimum of seven years of expertise, cultivated within top-tier law firms or multinational corporate legal departments, is sought for this role.

Individuals should possess extensive expertise in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance-related domains.

Demonstrated expertise in managing intricate contractual arrangements, facilitating high-stakes negotiations, and overseeing international business operations.

Strong business insight coupled with the capacity to reconcile legal risk and commercial goals.

Exceptional proficiency in communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management is essential.

Must demonstrate the capacity for autonomous work while effectively engaging and persuading key decision-makers across varied organizational settings.

A background in technology or telecommunications is beneficial.

Seeking candidates with a proactive approach to learning, strong ethical standards, and unwavering dedication to providing exceptional legal assistance.
