Deliver the Health underwriting strategy by executing precise risk selection, maintaining strict pricing discipline, and managing the portfolio within designated authority limits, all while ensuring the attainment of loss ratio targets, high portfolio quality, and alignment with the company’s underwriting philosophy.

Key responsibilities include managing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, overseeing cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, and monitoring project progress to achieve key performance indicators. Additionally, the role involves fostering collaboration between departments, identifying process improvements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Perform underwriting functions for the health insurance portfolio, maintaining rigorous risk selection standards, upholding business quality, and meeting profitability and loss ratio objectives.

Assess health risks and determine underwriting outcomes—such as acceptance, rejection, or modification—within the scope of delegated authority, utilizing sound technical expertise and strict adherence to established underwriting protocols.

Assess and implement suitable pricing, terms, and conditions by evaluating risk exposure, maintaining an equilibrium between market competitiveness and disciplined underwriting practices.

Maintain strict adherence to underwriting standards, credit policy, and delegated authority limits while upholding robust risk governance and audit preparedness.

Monitor the designated risks and ensure all recommendations from the risk survey are addressed promptly, maintaining a focus on timely execution and ongoing enhancements to portfolio quality.

Partner with business development, claims, and other internal departments to facilitate the acquisition and retention of business while addressing underwriting-related concerns.

Monitor and evaluate trends in underwriting performance, identifying emerging risks or areas of underperformance and facilitating the implementation of corrective measures.

Maintain precise underwriting records and guarantee thorough documentation of client information, complying with both company policies and regulatory standards.

You must adhere strictly to the approved Delegated Authority Matrix and escalate any decisions that fall outside your assigned authority limits.

Revitalize underwriting processes, enhance turnaround times, and elevate service delivery standards through proactive contributions to ongoing improvement initiatives.
