Job Summary
Pearl Hospital, a Level 4 multi-specialty facility in Lavinia County, operates in alignment with its core values of Quality, Efficiency, Professionalism, and Compassion. We are currently seeking a Community Oral and Health Officer to deliver exceptional oral healthcare services, encompassing diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and community-based oral health education. The role also involves promoting proper dental hygiene practices and contributing to comprehensive patient care.
Oversee and execute critical operational duties to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to organizational standards, including managing daily activities, coordinating cross-functional teams, and maintaining compliance with established protocols. Lead strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and drive continuous improvement across departments, while fostering collaboration and accountability among staff. Monitor performance metrics to identify trends, resolve inefficiencies, and implement corrective measures to achieve long-term objectives. Ensure alignment with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to uphold operational integrity and mitigate risks.
Perform comprehensive oral examinations to evaluate patients’ dental health and identify any conditions or concerns.
Diagnose and manage prevalent oral and dental conditions to ensure optimal patient health and treatment outcomes.
Deliver both preventive and restorative treatments to ensure optimal patient care and treatment outcomes.
Deliver comprehensive oral health education and personalized counselling sessions to patients and community groups to promote improved dental hygiene practices and overall well-being.
Engage in initiatives aimed at community outreach and enhancing dental health awareness through various educational programs and events.
Maintain adherence to all infection prevention and control standards within the dental unit.
Prepare reports and ensure all necessary documentation is consistently maintained in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements stipulated by the Ministry of Health and the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with three years of professional experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems, and agile practices is required. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are also necessary to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
A recognized institution must grant either a degree or diploma in Community Oral Health.
Hold a current, valid practicing license and registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
A minimum of one to two years of practical clinical experience within a high-volume dental practice is required.
Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred but not required.
Effective communication and strong interpersonal abilities are essential requirements for this role.
Proficiency in basic computer applications and experience with electronic medical records systems are advantageous.
Demonstrates proficiency in leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven track record of delivering results in dynamic environments. Exhibits exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and team cohesion. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities are essential for navigating complex challenges. Adept at managing multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on achieving organizational objectives. Requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a leadership or managerial role, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies is advantageous.
