Job Summary

We are currently seeking an Optical Technician to support the delivery of superior optical services, including dispensing optical products, fitting and repairing eyewear, performing essential optical measurements, and ensuring outstanding patient care.
Oversee the execution of core duties encompassing project management, operational oversight, and strategic planning to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity across teams. Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and recommend data-driven solutions to optimize outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to facilitate seamless communication, resolve conflicts, and foster a cohesive work environment. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company standards, and ethical guidelines while mitigating risks. Lead initiatives to drive innovation, improve customer satisfaction, and support long-term business growth.
Interpret and fill prescriptions provided by Optometrists or Ophthalmologists.
Assess each patient’s visual needs and preferences to recommend suitable frames, lenses, and optical accessories.
Ensure precise measurements are taken, including pupillary distance (PD), segment height, and frame fitting specifications.
Create, modify, adjust, and service spectacles and other optical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and user satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of optical inventory, including frames, lenses, contact lenses, and related supplies.
Verify optical prescriptions and orders to ensure accuracy prior to dispensing, inspecting each item meticulously to confirm compliance with specifications.
Verify that all optical equipment and tools are meticulously cleaned, fully operational, and consistently maintained to manufacturer specifications.
Ensure meticulous documentation of patient information and medication dispensing in strict adherence to hospital protocols.
Facilitate the accuracy and efficiency of optical supply inventory management and acquisition procedures.
Ensure strict adherence to Infection Prevention and Control protocols while consistently maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace.
Engage actively in initiatives aimed at enhancing quality standards within the optical department.
Candidates must meet the following key requirements to be considered for the position. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, along with at least three years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, and strong problem-solving abilities are a must. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are also required to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
A recognized institution must have awarded a Diploma or Certificate in Optical Technology or Optician.
Professional registration with the appropriate regulatory or professional body, as required, is mandatory.
A minimum of one to two years of practical experience in an optical clinic, hospital, or eyewear retail environment is preferred.
Proficiency in optical lenses, frames, contact lenses, and dispensing methodologies is required.
