Position Summary

PA SGR is in search of an experienced Senior Communications Officer to spearhead corporate communications, public relations, digital engagement, and the visibility of the organization’s initiatives. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director while contributing to program implementation, knowledge management, and resource mobilization through strategic communication efforts.

Oversee and execute a broad range of critical responsibilities integral to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational efficiency. Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to enhance performance, productivity, and overall effectiveness within the department. Lead and mentor teams through clear delegation, continuous feedback, and professional development initiatives. Collaborate across functions to streamline processes, resolve challenges, and foster innovation. Maintain compliance with policies, regulations, and industry standards while safeguarding organizational integrity. Analyze data, metrics, and key performance indicators to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication, alignment, and accountability at all levels.

Spearhead the creation and execution of PA SGR’s Communications Strategy to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging across all platforms and initiatives.

Oversee the development and execution of corporate communications strategies, ensuring alignment with established branding guidelines and public relations objectives.

Supervise the development, maintenance, and performance of the website, digital platforms, and social media channels to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and business objectives.

Oversee the development and execution of publications, multimedia content, and documentation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Enhance external communications by fostering robust media partnerships and actively engaging with key stakeholders to cultivate mutually beneficial relationships.

Assist in fulfilling fundraising objectives and enhancing programmed-related communication requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required. Minimum of five years of relevant experience in software development, with proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Strong problem-solving skills and experience with full-stack development, APIs, and cloud services are essential. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.

A master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a closely related discipline is required.

A minimum of eight years of professional experience in a comparable senior communications position is required.

Accomplished professionals should demonstrate exceptional proficiency in crafting compelling narratives, developing engaging written content, and producing high-quality multimedia materials.

Accomplished professionals with a proven track record in digital platforms, media engagement strategies, and strategic communication are encouraged to apply. Fluent English communication skills are essential, while French proficiency is considered an asset.
