What You’ll Do

At DAKOTA, you will immediately assume leadership of the AI Operations team, spearheading its delivery, expanding its capabilities, and demonstrating tangible value. Your team will develop automation solutions and intelligent agents for internal applications while providing expert guidance to Engineering on integrating AI into customer-facing products. Embrace the opportunity to merge innovative AI technologies with mission-driven initiatives that foster digital and financial inclusion across Africa.

Your primary responsibilities involve overseeing project execution, ensuring adherence to deadlines, and maintaining high standards of quality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align objectives, address challenges, and drive deliverables efficiently. Additionally, you will analyze performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic solutions to enhance overall productivity and operational effectiveness.

Oversee a team of two AI Ops Engineers, taking full ownership of their project delivery, technical development, and daily operational activities.

Efficiently prioritize tasks by adeptly handling concurrent demands from various teams, employing a well-defined prioritization framework that you will both establish and refine.

Develop and deploy automations and agents designed to deliver tangible enhancements in workflow efficiency for both internal teams and customer-facing employees.

Maintain the operational integrity and performance of the AI tooling infrastructure as its usage expands to support over 2,500 employees.

Professionally monitor advancements in AI tools and technologies to distinguish between fleeting trends and genuinely impactful innovations, ensuring informed decision-making and strategic alignment with evolving industry standards.

Assist in enhancing AI training initiatives across the broader organization, particularly for Engineering departments.

The technical environment requires expertise in a range of operating systems, including but not limited to Windows, Linux, and macOS, along with proficiency in various programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++. Candidates must possess at least three years of hands-on experience in system administration, network configuration, or software development. Responsibilities include maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring system security. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, as well as containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essential.

AI & Agentic Frameworks: Experience with advanced AI frameworks such as Claude, Claude Code, and Anthropic’s suite of tools, along with proficiency in Lang Chain and MCP. Familiarity with Google ADK or comparable agentic frameworks is also required.

Automation and Prototyping encompass scripting, workflow optimization tools, AI-assisted development solutions, and rapid prototyping capabilities utilizing platforms such as Tercel and Railway.

Enterprise Tooling involves automating identity management through Microsoft Entra, alongside the maintenance and enhancement of internal platforms, as well as seamless integrations with Notion and HiBob systems.

Twelve months have already seen the deployment of production-ready automations for Claude, Notion, HiBob, and Entry, establishing a foundational infrastructure.

Our Approach

Deliver tangible results through direct execution—join a dynamic team committed to developing and deploying fully functional automations and agents.

Demonstrate tangible value initially, then scale progressively—beginning with a team of two engineers, illustrating measurable impact, and subsequently expanding based on proven outcomes.

A product-centric approach is essential, requiring you to view internal teams as primary customers and develop tools that deliver tangible value.

Assess emerging AI tools based on their tangible benefits and real-world applicability rather than their promotional claims.

What You Need

Experience in project management, strategic planning, or a related field is highly desirable. Familiarity with compliance standards, regulatory requirements, or best practices pertinent to the role is also required.

Demonstrates practical expertise in developing automation solutions through scripting, workflow optimization tools, or AI-powered development methodologies.

Proven expertise in developing agents with agentic frameworks, such as Lang Chain, MCP, Google ADK, or comparable technologies, is essential.

Background in enterprise tooling includes expertise with rapid prototyping solutions such as Tercel or Railway, identity automation platforms like Entry, or internal platform development.

You possess a strong background in leading teams, having successfully guided or mentored engineers while taking full ownership of both project delivery and team growth.
