POSITION SUMMARY:

The Protection Associate will spearhead the delivery of organized case management services for refugees and asylum seekers facing psychosocial challenges. This role emphasizes evaluation, strategic planning, referrals, and ongoing monitoring to guarantee individuals receive prompt, discreet, and tailored assistance. Additionally, the Associate will enhance integrated, client-focused case management systems within HIS initiatives, integrating Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) principles into comprehensive protection strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform comprehensive intake evaluations and risk assessments to determine client requirements, subsequently formulating tailored case management plans.

Facilitate prompt referrals to suitable services while diligently conducting follow-ups to track progress and assess outcomes.

Document case details in the confidential case management system while adhering to strict data protection protocols; subsequently, produce reports to guide programmatic decision-making.

Maintain current and update service mapping and referral pathways as needed to enhance integrated case management.

A professional is tasked with assessing individuals in need of specialized mental health services and subsequently facilitating their connection with suitable providers.

Incorporate foundational psychosocial support principles into case management practices, fostering an approach that is both trauma-informed and centered on the client’s unique needs.

Engage in community outreach initiatives, proactively engaging with at-risk populations to assess their needs and connect them with essential case management resources.

Facilitate community-driven systems to ensure the secure identification and appropriate referral of individuals requiring assistance.

Facilitate mental health and psychosocial awareness initiatives aimed at encouraging help-seeking behavior while combating stigma.

Collaborate closely with protection teams to deliver integrated and comprehensive support for vulnerable individuals, addressing issues such as violence, child protection risks, and other critical protection concerns.

Develop and sustain productive partnerships with collaborators, community stakeholders, and service providers to enhance referral network efficacy.

Craft comprehensive and timely reports that document case management activities, identify prevailing trends and obstacles, and highlight service gaps in a clear and actionable manner.

To stay informed of client needs, track emerging trends and leverage insights to enhance program effectiveness and strategic response planning.

Ensure adherence to HIS policies regarding safeguarding measures, accountability to affected populations, and data protection protocols.

Provides guidance and facilitates skill development for staff and community members, emphasizing case management fundamentals, secure handling procedures, and adherence to ethical guidelines.

Execute any additional tasks or responsibilities as directed by management from time to time.

Qualifications and prerequisites include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics, coupled with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in software development or data analysis. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or SQL is essential, along with familiarity with frameworks such as Django or Spring Boot. Strong problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams are equally critical. Additional assets include prior involvement in agile methodologies, cloud computing expertise, and a proven track record of delivering scalable solutions in fast-paced environments.

A degree in psychology, sociology, social work, community development, or a closely related discipline is required.

With a minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience in case management, specifically within MHPSS or protection-focused programming, the ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in delivering comprehensive support services.

Preferred candidates will have prior experience collaborating with refugees or other vulnerable populations.

Proficiency in case management principles, adherence to IAS MHPSS guidelines, and familiarity with safeguarding frameworks are essential.

Proficiency in Accountability to Affected Populations principles is required.
