Role Context
The PR & Communications Associate will play a pivotal role in advancing Prudential Kenya’s public relations and communications strategy by enhancing media engagement, crafting compelling content, facilitating internal communications, organizing PR events, and contributing to crisis and reputational risk management efforts.
The position will uphold and strengthen the Prudential brand by delivering accurate, prompt, and regulation-compliant messaging across every internal and external interaction.
The primary responsibilities of this position encompass overseeing key client relationships, ensuring adherence to contract terms, and driving revenue growth through strategic account management. Draft, edit, and facilitate the pitching of press releases, media statements, op-eds, and bylined articles to secure earned media coverage.
Assist in organizing media interviews by developing comprehensive briefing notes, crafting key messages, and preparing detailed Q&A documents.
Develop and sustain professional connections with journalists, editors, and other key media stakeholders across pertinent platforms.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly desirable. Familiarity with agile development methodologies, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required.

Strong written communication skills in English are essential; fluency in Swahili is highly desirable.
