Key duties associated with this position encompass the following:

Deliver engaging, practical, and inquiry-driven Computer Studies and Physical Education lessons that strictly adhere to the Kenya curriculum standards, ensuring students gain relevant, real-world knowledge and skills.

Cultivate and sustain professional, constructive, and positive relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.

Design instructional materials and collaborate with the Learning Design Team to evaluate and revise lessons as needed.

Foster a classroom setting that promotes effective learning, aligns with students’ developmental stages and interests, and ensures an organized and purposeful learning atmosphere.

Infuse a sense of enthusiasm and dedication to learning into lessons, ensuring students are highly motivated and engaged in pursuing academic excellence.

Ensure appropriate accommodations and adjustments are implemented to support the academic and cultural growth and success of every student.

Ensure students achieve proficiency in both subject and established academic standards.

Incorporate dynamic technological tools into instructional strategies to elevate the quality of teaching and learning experiences.

Establish and convey challenging yet attainable objectives for every student while delivering constructive feedback that fosters their comprehension and ownership of these targets.

Deliver consistent incentives and/or repercussions for student conduct while exemplifying the desired behavior at all times to serve as a model for students to follow.

Act as an on-duty teacher and/or boarding teacher while contributing to the implementation of school-wide behavior intervention initiatives.

The position requires the prompt recording of student academic data and the clear communication of student progress to National Program (NP) families and other relevant stakeholders as needed.

Assist in the development of well-rounded students by providing support to clubs, societies, and other core-curricular enrichment programs within the school.

When assigned, fulfill the responsibilities of a homeroom teacher, ensuring attentive guidance and support for assigned students throughout the academic day.

ABOUT YOU

Skills and Qualifications Required:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is essential, along with a minimum of three years of experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is required, alongside expertise in database management and cloud computing platforms. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills are also necessary to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices is preferred. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

A Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in Computer Studies or Physical Education, along with TSC certification, are essential qualifications for this role.

Requires a minimum of three years of hands-on teaching experience.
