The Opportunity:

Lead sales initiatives and meet business targets across Sub-Saharan Africa, spanning 15 countries, including WAC, EAC, and neighboring markets in South Africa, for key accounts and other clients. This involves effectively implementing sales, marketing, and market access strategies tailored to all species, such as Poultry, Pets, Ruminants, Swine, Equine, and VPH. Execute strategic action plans through established distribution channels and partnerships, ensuring full adherence to Boehringer Ingelheim’s global policies. The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities:

We develop strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and optimize market performance by analyzing market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes. This role requires a minimum of five years of experience in sales planning or a related field, along with proficiency in data analysis tools and CRM systems. Key responsibilities include forecasting sales, setting measurable targets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute initiatives that enhance customer engagement and profitability. Collaborates closely with the Head of Animal Health to design and sustain country-specific business strategies aimed at optimizing BI’s regional and national market performance. This role ensures the realization of net sales targets and objectives by leveraging local distributor networks.

Compiles data collected from distributors and market research to generate precise forecast projections.

Acts as a liaison with distributors to foster steady and long-term expansion in sales and revenue through the identification and cultivation of new market opportunities.

Maintains adherence to the operating budget by ensuring all sales, marketing, and market access expenses are accurately recorded and up to date in the expense account.

Ensure preparedness for upcoming product introductions while developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive launch strategies.

Requirements:

A veterinary degree or specialist qualification in microbiology-virology (or equivalent) is required.

With a minimum of seven to ten years of hands-on experience in a leadership capacity within the animal health sector, candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in sales leadership roles.

With a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in sales and marketing, you have consistently met and surpassed targets while effectively implementing strategic plans.

Proficiency in regional operations within Sub-Saharan Africa is highly beneficial.
