POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon ensures compliance with CURE’s established quality standards while delivering direct surgical care to patients. This role encompasses instructing and mentoring medical professionals in the fundamentals and advanced methods of plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures, as well as supervising their surgical practice. Additionally, the Surgeon is tasked with enhancing the department’s overall standard of care, educational initiatives, and operational management.
Overseeing critical responsibilities for this role, the successful candidate will be tasked with executing key duties integral to operational success. Among these are managing and coordinating departmental activities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and maintaining strict adherence to established policies and procedures. Additionally, the position requires thorough monitoring of performance metrics to evaluate progress and facilitate informed decision-making, while also fostering collaboration across teams to enhance productivity and achieve organizational goals.
Compile and examine comprehensive case histories by gathering pertinent data through thorough patient evaluations and consultations with family members.
Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify the necessity for clinical laboratory tests and analyze examination findings alongside test results.
Develop and recommend tailored plastic and reconstructive surgical interventions grounded in clinical findings and diagnostic outcomes.
Establish and implement comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care protocols, which encompass the administration of sedatives, the prescription of specialized dietary plans, and the meticulous preparation of the patient’s operative field.
Execute surgical procedures and collaborate with the anesthesiologist to ensure seamless operation coordination.
Provide medical care for individuals experiencing surgical shock, postoperative hemorrhage, and other related complications.
Provide supervision and guidance to operating room personnel regarding preoperative and postoperative care protocols, as well as operating room procedural standards.
Provide training and guidance to resident plastic and reconstructive surgeons on various plastic and reconstructive surgical techniques and procedures.
Ensure comprehensive and precise documentation of all relevant patient details.
Ensure patient safety throughout consultations, surgical procedures, and the postoperative recovery phase.
Provide support to the Medical Director in sustaining a precise and sufficient inventory of medications and supplies.
Oversee various additional responsibilities as assigned to support operational needs and contribute to the overall success of the team. Assist in implementing new initiatives, managing special projects, and performing ad hoc tasks as required by management. Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures while maintaining flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Perform any other duties that may arise to fulfill organizational objectives and uphold service excellence.

Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, complemented by a proven track record in a similar role. Applicants should possess a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in the key responsibilities outlined for this position. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential. Additionally, familiarity with industry-specific software, tools, or frameworks is required to perform the duties effectively.
Hold an accredited medical degree, specifically an MD or DO, from a reputable and officially recognized medical institution.
Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty is preferred.
Licensed and unrestricted medical practitioner with a current, valid medical credential.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of two years of professional experience in either a private practice or hospital-based healthcare setting.
Seeking a candidate with demonstrated expertise in the field of pediatric plastic surgery.
Professional experience in developing countries is highly desirable.
