Job Summary

Pearl Hospital, a Level 4 multi-specialty facility situated in Lavinia County, operates under the guiding principles of Quality, Efficiency, Professionalism, and Compassion. We are currently seeking a Community Oral and Health Officer to deliver exceptional oral healthcare services, encompassing diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and community-based oral health education initiatives. Additionally, the role involves promoting optimal dental hygiene practices and contributing to comprehensive patient care.

Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic initiatives to drive organizational growth and operational efficiency. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company objectives, fostering collaboration and accountability at every stage. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing transparent communication and ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Perform comprehensive oral assessments and evaluations of patients’ dental health through detailed examinations.

Diagnose and oversee the treatment of prevalent oral and dental conditions.

Execute preventive and corrective treatments to maintain optimal oral health and address dental concerns promptly.

Offer oral health education and counselling services to patients and communities.

Engage in initiatives aimed at promoting dental health and fostering community connections through outreach and educational programs.

Maintain compliance with infection prevention and control protocols throughout the dental unit.

Prepare necessary reports and ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with established standards and requirements.

Ensure adherence to regulations stipulated by the Ministry of Health and the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics. Candidates must possess at least three years of professional experience in software development or a closely related discipline. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with experience working with databases and cloud platforms. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning are also required. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment are necessary. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems is preferred.

Holds a recognized qualification in Community Oral Health, such as a degree or diploma from an accredited institution.

Possession of a valid, active practicing license and registration from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council is required.

A minimum of one to two years of hands-on clinical practice within a fast-paced dental environment is strongly preferred.

A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is considered a valuable asset for applicants.

Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse teams, fostering positive interpersonal relationships.

Proficiency in fundamental computer operations and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems would be advantageous.
