The Program Assistant is responsible for executing field-level implementation, conducting routine monitoring, and managing data for the School Feeding Program and its related sustainability efforts. This position guarantees precise data collection, adherence to school-level compliance standards, and the prompt reporting of field activities.

The Program Implementation Support role focuses on providing essential assistance to ensure the successful execution and delivery of programs. Key responsibilities include coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project timelines, and monitoring progress to meet predetermined objectives. Additionally, the position requires strong analytical skills to assess program data, identify potential challenges, and propose effective solutions. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least three years of experience in program management or a related discipline, is typically required. Proficiency in project management tools and exceptional communication abilities are also necessary to facilitate collaboration and report on program outcomes.
Facilitate the execution of school feeding programs at designated schools in accordance with established and approved plans.
Coordinate food delivery processes at the school level by overseeing receipt and conducting basic verification procedures.
Facilitate the coordination of field initiatives and stakeholder interactions to ensure seamless execution.
We will assist in rolling out school-level sustainability initiatives under the Sustainable School Meals Project (SSMP), working in close coordination with the SSMP Project Officer. This includes setting up kitchen gardens, overseeing their progress, and delivering hands-on technical guidance on crop farming, poultry rearing, and related activities.
The incumbent is tasked with overseeing the compilation of reports, conducting continuous monitoring, and performing thorough evaluations to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency. This role involves systematically tracking progress, analyzing performance metrics, and providing actionable insights to stakeholders to support informed decision-making. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to present findings in clear, concise formats. Additionally, the role may include developing and implementing evaluation frameworks, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to enhance overall effectiveness.
Compose quarterly and annual reports to document and communicate the progress of ongoing implementation efforts.
Maintain accurate and current beneficiary and school records, including enrollment details, feeding data, and contact information.
Conduct routine school oversight visits to verify that all activities are progressing as planned, focusing on timely food deliveries, rigorous quality control of food supplies, appropriate storage and handling of food products by schools, and other critical aspects.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Program Change/Impact documentation by capturing and recording relevant narratives and outcomes.
Regularly communicate progress and developments regarding the school feeding program through all designated platforms.
Conduct data collection activities to support needs assessments, baselines, and impact evaluations at both the school and community levels.
Maintain all required tools and trackers in proper working order and ensure they are consistently updated to reflect current information.

Job Specification:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role, is necessary. Candidates must possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, exceptional communication skills, and proficiency in industry-specific software tools. Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance protocols is also essential. Additionally, the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines is required.
A relevant academic qualification, such as a university diploma or degree in fields including Food Security, Agronomy, Community Development, Nutrition, or Social Work, is required.
With a minimum of two years of proven expertise in a relevant field, candidates should possess a track record of increasingly responsible positions in School Feeding, Agriculture, Community Development, or Education in Emergencies.
Proficiency in agriculture and agronomy, with a focus on educational institutions and their neighboring communities, is required.
Proficiency in working within Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (BASAL) regions and among local communities is advantageous.
A valid motorcycle riding license is strongly preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate both willingness and capability to operate a motorcycle for transportation to and from project locations.
Proven track record in overseeing intricate projects with meticulous attention to progress tracking and comprehensive reporting.
Proficient in leveraging various data collection and reporting platforms, including Kobe, OK, Google Forms, and Excel/Sheets, among others.
