Position Summary

The Program Officer will facilitate the execution, coordination, oversight, and stakeholder engagement for multiple initiatives at Alone Initiative. This role will involve spearheading the “Transforming Helmet Safety in Kenya: From Regulation to Market Compliance” project, which aims to enhance motorcycle helmet safety regulations, compliance frameworks, and institutional coordination across Kenya. In addition to leading this initiative, the officer will assist with the implementation of other Alone projects. The position requires a pivotal contribution to policy discussions, technical advisory sessions, stakeholder collaboration, research initiatives, monitoring and evaluation efforts, and engagement with government bodies, development partners, transport stakeholders, and civil society organizations. The preferred candidate will possess robust project coordination abilities, a background in policy or governance-focused programming, and a proven commitment to road safety, transport governance, public policy, standards compliance, or sustainable mobility.
