About the Role

We seek an experienced, proactive Production Supervisor to act as the Production Manager (Packhorse)’s immediate and trusted second-in-command.

As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee multiple production segments, make critical operational choices at the moment, and assume complete oversight of the production environment. Responsibilities include overseeing quality control processes, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions to maintain certification and uphold industry benchmarks. Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail are critical to identifying potential hazards and enforcing stringent hygiene protocols throughout operations.

Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (Shops) throughout all production facilities.

Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to verify that in-process quality checks are conducted and properly documented, addressing any deviations promptly.

Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness to meet all daily inspections and external audit requirements consistently.

Promote and uphold a “Quality at Source” culture, proactively identifying and escalating any potential hazards associated with unsafe or non-compliant products without delay.

Responsible for overseeing cost management initiatives and optimizing operational efficiency, the incumbent will analyze financial data, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure budget adherence. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial software, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost-saving strategies. Key responsibilities include monitoring expenditures, evaluating cost structures, and recommending process improvements to enhance productivity while maintaining quality standards. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required, along with at least three years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis.

Monitor kilo-based expenditures by enhancing raw material utilization, improving labor efficiency, and minimizing waste generation.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including yield, throughput, hygiene, sanitation, and machine efficiency metrics, to ensure operational excellence and adherence to quality standards.

Spearhead ongoing improvement efforts to boost productivity and reduce expenses.

Oversee all logistics and warehouse operations to ensure seamless functionality and adherence to established protocols. Manage inventory control, coordinate shipping and receiving activities, and maintain accurate records of stock levels. Supervise warehouse staff, assigning tasks and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Optimize storage solutions and workflow processes to enhance efficiency. Collaborate with procurement teams to align supply chain activities with organizational goals. Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and delays. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to elevate operational performance. Requires proficiency in logistics software, inventory management systems, and a minimum of three years in warehouse supervision. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.

Manage the operations of the finished goods warehouse and dispatch functions.

Maintain precise handling of receipt, storage, and dispatch operations in strict adherence to FIFO principles to uphold accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.

Ensure the integrity of the cold chain throughout the handling process while adhering to all food safety regulations for product loading.

Maintaining a flawless safety record and upholding a zero-incident culture remain fundamental priorities.

Collaborate closely with the Engineering team to establish priorities for both scheduled and unplanned maintenance activities while minimizing operational interruptions.

Ensure that operators consistently carry out fundamental preventative maintenance inspections.

Foster and uphold a “Zero Incident” safety culture while ensuring all accidents and near-misses are promptly reported, accurately recorded, and thoroughly investigated.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Three or more years of experience in software development or a comparable role is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is necessary. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are crucial. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, are important for team collaboration. Familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile or Scrum is preferred.

A diploma or degree in Production Management, Food Science, Horticulture, or a closely related discipline is required.

A minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience in food processing or FMCG operations is required, including at least three years in a production management capacity where oversight of multiple teams or shifts was a key responsibility.

At least one year of hands-on experience within the horticultural industry is essential, specifically in fresh produce handling, packhorse operations, or another closely related horticultural production environment.

Your ability to lead and manage teams with authority and effectiveness is evident, as you can effectively supervise section heads, enforce accountability, and uphold discipline across the floor.

Professional candidates must demonstrate comprehensive expertise in food safety standards such as BRCGS, GMP, HACCP, and FSSC.
