The Assistant QA – Hygiene, Sanitation & Compliance serves as an operational position tasked with implementing and overseeing food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols across the production environment. This role verifies that all cleaning procedures, allergen controls, and environmental assessments align with internal requirements and adhere to recognized certification standards, including BRC, FSSC 22000, and HACCP.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties, including managing daily operations to ensure seamless workflow efficiency, leading cross-functional teams in achieving project milestones, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations. Additionally, monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, foster collaboration among departments to enhance productivity, and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on operational enhancements. Responsible for implementing and maintaining hygiene and sanitation protocols, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies. Evaluate the efficacy of established cleaning protocols by employing ATP swabbing techniques, conducting thorough visual inspections, and performing microbiological surface sampling to ensure optimal hygiene standards.

Responsibilities include ensuring the proper maintenance and calibration of sanitation monitoring equipment, such as ATP meters, pH meters for detergent verification, and temperature probes for rinse water.

Monitor and document sanitation critical control parameters, including chemical concentrations, contact times, water temperatures, and line dryness prior to the commencement of production.

Collaborate with production teams to maintain distinct cleaning zones, thereby mitigating the risk of cross-contamination.

Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and maintains accurate documentation in alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements. Conducts routine audits to verify compliance, identifies discrepancies, and implements corrective actions. Prepares and submits required reports to governing bodies, monitors changes in legislation, and provides guidance to teams on compliance obligations. Requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in regulatory frameworks. Experience in a compliance or documentation role within a regulated industry is preferred.

Oversee the master sanitation schedule and confirm that all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks for the production lines and facilities are executed and properly documented.

Collect and prepare environmental samples, including swabs, air plates, and water samples, for submission to third-party laboratories in accordance with the established environmental monitoring plan.

Verify that all sanitation records—including CIP logs, chemical usage logs, pest control service reports, and humidity and temperature checks—are completed with precision and filed systematically to ensure full traceability.

Ensure the upkeep of controlled documents, including Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (Shops), chemical safety data sheets, and master cleaning checklists.

Conducts quality audits and oversees Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Identifies deviations, evaluates root causes, and implements effective solutions to prevent recurrence. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to verify corrective actions and maintains detailed documentation for audit trails and continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform internal audits to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards in accordance with BRC Food Safety Standard (Issue 9) and FSSC 22000 requirements, with particular emphasis on zoning protocols (differentiating between high and low hygiene areas) and effective allergen management within production environments.

Support external audit preparations by gathering sanitation validation records, analyzing environmental monitoring trend data, and documenting chemical usage logs.

Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to document sanitation lapses, including pest observations and violations of proper chemical storage protocols.

Conduct thorough root cause analyses of hygiene-related deviations and develop, alongside the sanitation team, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address them.

Supplier & Raw Material Support

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee supplier relationships and ensure the seamless acquisition of high-quality raw materials essential for our operations. The ideal candidate will manage vendor communications, negotiate contracts, and monitor supply chain performance to mitigate risks and optimize cost efficiency. Qualifications & Competencies: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, and familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset are key attributes for this role.
