Job Purpose

The volunteer project manager will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of the randomized controlled trial evaluating digital versus paper-based patient-reported outcome measures (Proms) in the orthopedic outpatient clinic. This role involves ensuring adherence to timelines, regulatory standards, and effective communication to facilitate seamless collaboration among investigators, clinic staff, and volunteers.

Overseeing and executing a diverse range of critical tasks, the role involves ensuring operational excellence, managing team performance, and driving project completion. The role involves organizing and managing meetings among investigators, clinic staff, and research assistants to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

The role entails maintaining accurate records, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and verifying that all processes align with organizational policies. Responsibilities include compiling, reviewing, and updating documentation to meet compliance requirements while facilitating audits and inspections. Responsible for maintaining precise documentation of study advancements, encompassing recruitment tracking and the current status of data collection.

Liaise with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to uphold ethical compliance and maintain current documentation.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required:

Candidates must possess a combination of formal education, relevant professional experience, and specific competencies to be considered for this role. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field is typically required, though advanced degrees may be preferred depending on the position’s level. Prior to work experience in a similar capacity, ideally within the last five years, is essential, with a focus on progressively responsible roles.
