Job Summary
The Legal Operations Specialist (National TDB Volunteer) collaborates closely with the Legal Operations Manager to facilitate technology adoption, enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, execute transactions, and advance key initiatives within the Legal Department. This position delivers consistent administrative and technical assistance to the Legal Operations Team, helping to strengthen TDB Group’s operational framework, safeguard its interests, and minimize legal risks.
Overseeing a comprehensive range of duties, the incumbent will be responsible for executing key tasks that ensure operational efficiency and strategic alignment. This includes managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and maintaining meticulous documentation to track progress and outcomes. Additionally, the role requires regular performance evaluations, stakeholder communication, and adherence to company policies and industry standards. The Legal Operations Specialist is tasked with a range of critical duties and obligations, among which are the following key responsibilities:
Assist in enhancing the Legal Department’s processes, systems, and technology through ongoing improvement initiatives, which includes contributing to the development and execution of project pipelines aimed at boosting efficiency and effectiveness.
Support the Legal Operations Department by proactively gathering, evaluating, and presenting data on Legal Department Operations. This role involves developing metrics to measure efficient resource utilization and enhance productivity, ensuring alignment with the Department’s strategic goals.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions, partnering with consulting staff to execute identified remedies.
Provide project management assistance to the Legal Operations Department to facilitate the Legal Department’s initiatives, which involves developing project plans, managing regular status updates, and tracking task progress.
We oversee the entire transaction lifecycle for multi-stakeholder lending activities within the Group, managing the project from initiation to completion.
Supporting the monthly review and reconciliation of the Legal Department’s budget, providing updated quarterly and annual forecasts as required.
The role encompasses a range of technical and administrative duties essential to the Department’s operations, including document preparation, handling incoming and outgoing communications, and drafting and distributing correspondence. Additionally, the position involves document routing, executing processing instructions, managing invoices from external legal counsel, and performing other related clerical functions to facilitate efficient matter management and closure.
Responsible for organizing and preserving legal documentation, whether in physical or digital format, in strict compliance with established Bank policies.
Supports the organization and coordination of meetings, including preparation and follow-up tasks, to facilitate the department’s daily operations.
Assisting with diverse operational projects and initiatives across the department.
Seeking a highly motivated individual to fulfill the position, possessing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, coupled with at least three years of progressive experience in a comparable role. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in industry-standard software and tools. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, adaptability in dynamic environments, and a commitment to continuous professional development. Responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
A recognized institution must confer a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, or business organization. While holding a Master’s degree in a related discipline is not mandatory, it serves as an advantageous qualification.
A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a closely related field is required.
International exposure within a commercial enterprise, financial institution, or professional services firm—such as an international law firm, multinational corporation, banking institution, insurance provider, consulting agency, a Development Finance Institution (DFI), or a public sector financial body like a Ministry of Finance, National Treasury, or Sovereign Wealth Fund—will be viewed favorably.
Accomplished in leading and overseeing project initiatives with a demonstrated history of successful delivery.
A professional certification in project management is highly beneficial.
