We are seeking a highly skilled Red Seal Plumbing Specialist to join our team for a significant high-rise accommodation project located in Nairobi, Kenya. This position will encompass a wide range of duties, including the installation, testing, commissioning, and rigorous quality control of domestic water, drainage, firefighting, irrigation, swimming pool, and specialized plumbing systems.
Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to drive organizational objectives. Develop and implement comprehensive policies, procedures, and performance metrics to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance with industry standards. Lead cross-functional initiatives, fostering collaboration and innovation to achieve measurable outcomes. Analyze key performance indicators, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership to inform decision-making. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical guidelines while managing risk and resource allocation. Serve as a primary liaison between departments, stakeholders, and external partners to align goals and facilitate seamless communication. Mentor and develop high-performing teams through targeted training, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities. Prepare and present detailed reports, presentations, and proposals to convey progress, challenges, and strategic insights.
Review, analyze, and accurately interpret architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) drawings to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements and specifications.
Skilled professionals are tasked with establishing and maintaining hot and cold water supply systems, alongside drainage, soil, waste, and vent systems, ensuring efficient and compliant plumbing infrastructure.
Responsibilities include the installation of plumbing fixtures, pumps, tanks, filtration units, and booster systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with sanitation standards.
Perform underground drainage systems and specialized plumbing installations with precision.
We are responsible for the installation of irrigation systems, wet risers, sprinkler systems, jacuzzi units, and pool piping, ensuring all components are correctly placed and fully operational. This role involves precise assembly, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with relevant building codes and manufacturer specifications. Attention to detail and technical proficiency are essential to achieve reliable, high-performance installations.
Perform pressure testing, drainage testing, and system commissioning to ensure operational integrity and compliance with specifications.
Ensure strict adherence to British Standards, relevant local regulations, and OSHA safety requirements.
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in technical principles. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with experience in software development methodologies and best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are also required.
Red Seal Plumbing Certification is a nationally recognized credential issued by the Canadian Council of the Red Seal Program, granting qualified plumbers the ability to perform plumbing work across Canada without needing additional provincial or territorial certification. To qualify, candidates must complete an apprenticeship program of at least 7,200 hours (approximately four years) and pass a standardized, 8-hour exam covering trade-specific knowledge and skills. This certification demonstrates mastery of plumbing systems, including installation, maintenance, repair, and compliance with safety and building codes. Holders of the Red Seal Plumbing Certification are eligible to work in any province or territory, enhancing mobility and career opportunities within the plumbing trade.
With a minimum of five years of hands-on involvement in high-rise or commercial construction projects, the ideal candidate will bring extensive practical expertise to this role.
Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of MEP coordination and plumbing system design, installation, and maintenance.
Individuals with prior experience in firefighting operations or in the management of specialized water systems will be given preference.
