This six-month internship provides an immersive training experience designed to cultivate advanced skills in bid and tender preparation within a technology consulting setting. Interns will collaborate closely with seasoned bid managers to refine their expertise in this specialized field.
The program aims to provide interns with practical exposure to competitive bid preparation, tender documentation management, proposal development assistance, and comprehensive IT solution delivery frameworks. Upon completing the internship, participants will be fully equipped to assist in full bid cycles and contribute efficiently to tendering and proposal development initiatives for ICT projects.
Reporting Structure
The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), serving as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and providing critical insights to support executive decision-making. Collaboration with department heads and senior management is essential to drive organizational performance and maintain robust financial governance.
The position is accountable to the designated Bid/Tender Manager, who will serve as the intern’s supervisor and mentor throughout the program.
Duration
This internship has a duration of six months.
For the initial three-month period, interns will participate in rigorous training focusing on bid preparation, proposal writing, and adherence to tender compliance requirements and documentation standards. Continuous assessments will be administered to gauge their comprehension of bid processes and the development of effective proposals.
For the final three months, you will actively participate in live tender and proposal projects, receiving hands-on guidance from the Bid Manager.
Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance may be offered full-time positions at Green Com as Bid & Tender Assistants or Pre-Sales Support Officers.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive array of duties and obligations to ensure organizational goals are achieved efficiently and effectively. Manage key tasks, including strategic planning, operational coordination, and performance monitoring, while adhering to established policies and procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project completion, resolve complex challenges, and maintain high standards of accountability. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and process optimization. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices to uphold organizational integrity and reputation. Provide leadership through clear communication, delegation, and mentorship to empower team members and enhance collective productivity.
Support the preparation of tender documents, proposals, pre-qualification responses, and related supporting documentation.
Partner with bid managers, project teams, and associate consultants to compile essential technical, financial, and administrative data required for tender submissions.
Attend all pre-bid meetings and evaluations associated with tendering, proposal development, and compliance documentation preparation.
Guarantee that all bid submissions align precisely with client expectations and tender specifications, maintaining meticulous attention to detail and adherence to relevant standards.
Assist in creating comprehensive technical and financial schedules, working under the guidance of senior team members.
Develop a comprehensive grasp of Green Com’s business solutions, services, and value propositions to effectively contribute to proposal development efforts.
Engage in company-led innovation initiatives focused on enhancing the effectiveness and standards of the bidding process.
Perform any supplementary duties related to ongoing tender and pre-sales operations as assigned.
